Ubuntu's Lucid Lynx in final stretch

Pretty cool. I need to build an environment to play with the cloud computing functions a bit.
Go Ubuntu.
Although I normally run Fedora for my servers.
 
umm no its not nearly finished. theres a bug in X thats leaking memory. The longer your machine stays up the slower it gets until its totally unusable. They're considering rolling back any changes made in X to the previous version.

In order to make the Ubuntu 10.04 LTS deadline, the developers are looking at just reverting three of the patches, which brings the GLX version back to 1.2. Ubuntu developers are now desperate for those willing to test out this updated X.Org Server package so they can determine by this Friday whether to ship it with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS or doing an early SRU (Stable Release Update)."
 
I think it is going to be an awesome release. I've been using it since early Alpha and I've loved, super stable.

As for the X.org bug, it hasn't affected me. :)

You guys can download the RC ya know...the final version is basically the same, and you will beat the rush.
 
Ugh! I wish I had uncapped, still stuck on the whole capped thing. Updating Ubuntu is starting to cost me a fortune!

Just get some local cap and update from the Stellenbosch University Ubuntu repositories ;)

Can't wait for Lynx, the screenies look awesome!
 
WA has a FTP server in their FreeZone with all the Linux distributions. Downloading from this server does not count towards your cap. :)
 
Been running the Beta for a coupla weeks now (I never run Beta's) - it's REALLY fast and slick. Very nice. Seems very stable too, but haven't used it long enough to tell

I wish my stupid ISP (adept) would let me do this. They have an ftp server with distro's and such on it, but downloading from it counts towards the cap. WTF!
