stevovo, I highly recommend you try to get yourself on the wug too
If you and your friend want to how about buying a Wug Kit that you put at his place. Then he connects to the wug using the wug kit and broadcasts towards you. You can then connect to him with one of those nanostations (not sure how good they are, I prefer Mikrotik, but that is just me)
Here is what you will need:
Wug kit 1 -> http://www.scoopdistribution.co.za/product_info.php?cPath=49_78&products_id=779
Nanostation -> http://www.scoopdistribution.co.za/product_info.php?products_id=655
Power for nanostation -> http://www.scoopdistribution.co.za/product_info.php?cPath=49_53&products_id=822
Your friend can then connect to the wug using the 5.8ghz grid with the kit, and he can broadcast in your direction using the panel built into the box. The router in wug kit 1 has 2 radios, one 2.4ghz, and one dual band, so you don't need to buy another radio.
Just my 2c
