my download speed is fine its interference

makes local games and international games hard to play with spiking and browsing timeout or go slow

Dude, that is not Telkoms problem. Those pings look fine but regardless the speed is constant until you reach the international hop which is normal due to latency. If you have issues with internet speeds speak to your ISP as they use Internet Solutions as their backbone provider.

I'm just around the corner from Cascades, so close to Athlone. Maybe an infrastructure problem? I was fine (on 384) until I upgraded to 4meg a couple of days ago:confused:
This sucks. I'm so :sick: of phoning Telkom now:mad:
 
same had problem when i upgraded to 4 meg too btw having a telkom top guy coming to my house soon to check

he actually said i got best line in the area lol

btw have you tried 1 meg dsl cause when i did i experienced more major problems than 4 meg and way worse noise on phone

No, I went straight from 384 to 4meg. I'm gonna go to the Telkom shop and try get something done. I really want 4meg though, I hope they can fix this!
 
whats strange just tried a billion router i got from telkom and it can sync at 4 meg line but wont connect to internet account lol

yet my old router works

might need you to check just want to try another telkom router first tommorow

oh and btw i'm like few hundred metres from UMC box yet router shows its 2 km from it lol

yet on billion telkom router shows its few 100 metres away reason why i wanted to get new router
 
seems when i have no telephones and plug straight into main telephone line my dsl has way better readings.

SNR Margin(Upstream) 28 dB
SNR Margin(Downstream) 22.0 dB
Line Attenuation(Upstream) 4.0 dB
Line Attenuation(Downstream) 6.5 dB

and as soon as i add a telephone on the line either disconnects or gives bad readings anyone know where its being caused?

p.s finally got billion router working my telephones was affecting it using billion atm

The filter your phone is plugged into (or should be plugged into) if fscked or you don't have one. Get a new filter.
 
they are new filters

my reading when i checked old router attenuation was 4 and 9 now suddenly back at 5 and 26 lol

and no phones are connected right now

also experiencing problems on skype

i checked phones with no dial tone and i can hear noise :P thanks to suggestion on another topic

anyone got next step for me to do?

cause ive tried telkom tons
