Morning all,

As of this morning, anyone else having this issue?

I logon, go to payments.
Select and enter what I need to pay, click confirm.
Notification comes to app on my phone.
I open it and get warned of suspicious activity and accept it, then approve it, it goes through saying the normal "Your request has been successfully initiated. Please revert to FNB online banking for transaction confirmation" but on the site, the countdown which normally vanishes says on all the way to 0 then I end up back at the confirmation screen.

I placed a order on Takealot - went through.
I filled my car at Shell - went through.

So def site > app issue.

I did several transactions earlier with no issues. There was a one off payment to a Capitec account, a Pay@ through “Bills” and a Payshap all this morning with no issues.

Awesome! Save the bucks and use them to buy a gun so you can shoot yourself in the head when you need support from FNB :)

All banks are the same. I joined FNB from ABSA about 15 years ago after the complete and utter schist service they were giving. The eBucks helps soften the blow.

I just tested now again and it's still not working. Same as earlier, this time it was for a once off payment of just R200.

Def not working my side.

That's true. I get enough rewards points from investec to cover the monthly fee without putting any effort into it so that works for me. Their service is literally 10x better than all the other major banks I've tried. Haven't ever tried ABSA though

I'm getting a "System unavailable" randomly when navigating through the app at the moment.

Weird. I wonder if it’s a local network issue? Don’t know why or how but I’m out of the country at the moment (literally in the middle of a desert) and it’s working no problem in any area.

@Spizz are you using the app itself to do payments or the web (in conjunction with the app) to do payments?

The app itself. I did a couple of payments this morning, a Pay@ bill and a Payshap, then when I read this post I remembered I had an invoice to pay so tried the normal pay a “once off payment”, entered the recipient details and it went through no issues. I’m in Saudi Arabia at the moment if that makes any difference? It’s all I can think of if no-one else’s is working.

They should rather use it to improve the app. Home screen layout changes doesn't stick. For you offers can't be turned off. Setting an app pin doesn't work. Sound notifications don't work. Etc. etc.

Ha, I opened tax free savings accounts at Capitec for my boys a few years ago. I started the process of "moving" them to NinetyOne. Fsck me.

The one account was eventually sorted somewhere in Apr. The other one I had to start the process from a fresh this week.
No one at Capitec knows wtf I am talking about when I call. They want to assist me in transferring funds out of the accounts to a beneficiary. Open your fscking ears and listen when I say I want to transfer the moterfscking accounts to another service provider. FFS.

And to top it off I noticed that they reinvested the one TFSA for another 12 months fixed until Feb 2025. So they are gonna tune me I can only do the transfer in 2025. Gonna fsck them up. I never signed the re-investment docs they sent me out of their own.

Capitec support is non-existent. Try and get a tax certificate for your TFSA from Capitec. Just try. The IT3s certificate. Near impossible.

Capitec has been pretty easy when requesting IT3bs for me. Probably a case of the moment a request is off script, the drones don't know what to do
