Unable to do payments via FNB

I just tested now again and it's still not working. Same as earlier, this time it was for a once off payment of just R200.

Def not working my side.
I made an eft on Sunday and got a notification the payment went through, but it didn't show up in my transaction history on my cheque account.

Two days later still nothing, but today I noticed it went off my credit card. I have never changed the default eft payment account, but for some reason it had switched to the credit card.

Interest will be added. Make an internal transfer asap into the credit card for that eft

There is always money in the credit card, I am peeved because I do have to pay a transaction fee now.

This has never happened before. In the past week I also wanted to make a transfer from home loan to cheque account, but it was defaulted to credit card but noticed it before confirming. Again, this has never happened before. They must have changed some setting.

I was happy with the R2700 they gave me in eBucks this month :p

Your currency conversion is slightly off there.... More like E270 000 that you gave them

I tried chatting to them via the app - i was transferred from one person to another.

Eventually I gave up and then tried a few things.

So I use Vivaldi browser mainly. FNB wouldn't work with that.
But I changed to Google Chrome and it worked.

The classical period when you could talk and resolve your issues with the Big 4 has long past. Try SASFIN, it's free and any query you have will be resolved and with min.4 follow up calls to ensure that you are sorted even if it's 10pm, they have that little touch where they know you by name not because it's on their system but because you last spoke on the phone, they will remember the issue you had. Management will even call you after hours if requested. They have that old school banking vibes

I’m not sure how you work that out, point is I need to have a bank of some description or I wouldn’t get my salary. With FNB, I don’t pay fees and score a couple of grand a month. What’s not to like?

FNB is not in the business of paying you R2700 per month along with millions of others, you have to wrap your mind around that first. You are the one being fleeced through the eBucks universe.

They have my money and my business. In return they reward me for staying with them. It’s not so hard to understand but I ask you, what is the alternative?

Loyalty cards and programs are widespread and are in every conceivable area where you spend money. If you don’t want to use a checkers 60/60 card or you’d rather pay your bank fees then go for it. Me, I’ll game the system as best I can.

What your arrogance needs to wrap your head around is that I’m not a little boy.

Please show me the Investec loyalty programs if you may, as such with FNB, Theirs is not on that crazy level..... Mind you it's the same company but different demographics which they serve.

If your bank has "your business" then that it all that can be shown about how your mind operates, suppliers should be on a constant strive to RETAIN your business. Sure, you can game the system, but not to the point where you can earn 70% of minimum wage. Spar rewards gives you a bang for your buck but not R2700 ... It's when you in the higher echelon of the loyalty scheme that you become the sucker, in the never-ending hyperloop speed merry-go-round. If you look closely at your expenses within the Ebox universe I would be able to show where you could have saved much more.

Do you honestly and rationally think FNB is splurging on giving people R2700 per month?

As someone with filling stations and a truckstop, if anybody (FNB) tells you that you are getting a R4-R6 discount per litre, you have to know it's a scam/scheme, a sorts of cult. We don't make more than R1,00 per litre income revenue before expenses and taxes

And I never thought that you as my "little boy" we are exchanging thoughts here

But they do. So what now?

Now you are, previously you were being condescending and talking as if I’m stupid.

But okay, first of all you have no idea how much I earn and how I spend it. Secondly although some things are easy such as getting a preferential rate on my bond and getting eBucks back, I do maximise my return by jumping though a few easy hoops such as using Payshap now and shopping mostly at Checkers and filling up at Engen (I use my discovery card at Woolworths).

So my actions have been influenced, knowingly, but I don’t spend any more than I would have spent if I was at any other bank. So yes, I happily give FNB my business but I do it with my eyes open. And again, what’s the alternative?

And if you just do the payment on the app directly?

Instead of the website?

Have you paid this party before? Any chance the details are incorrect?

You could have just laughed in his face for the ridiculously false statement that Investec and FNB are the same company catering to different markets and then ignored the rest of the drivel.

How someone who allegedly runs their own business/es is too stupid to figure out how rewards programs operate is beyond me.

And then how they thing the top echelon are the ones being screwed is even more laughable.

There is also one website I cannot use with my main browser to pay stuff with my CC, have to use a different browser, so much for stuff supposedly now being browser agnostic.

Well, maybe not him directly. If all his banking costs were R270 and he got R2700 back, he was only paying a portion, the other FNB customer not getting ebucks or low ebucks paid it.

I’ve just yesterday flown with a colleague from Riyadh to Finland via Heathrow. We work for the same company and he travels as much as me. I have a platinum card on One World, he has a silver. I take advantage of the points and benefits, he’s never really bothered. I get priority boarding, first class lounge access, he gets club world, I get free upgrade to premium economy, he was up the back squashed in somewhere.

We pay the same fares. The airline gets the same amount of money from us. I take the time and get stuff back, he doesn’t. Same with FNB, take advantage or don’t.
