ADSL Fiber with Threshold

These are the most popular Uncapped packages, they provide you with an uncapped unshaped bandwidth at a price of a capped ADSL. These are the only Uncapped packages available on 4096kbps line speed!
Once the threshold limit is reached, line speed throttles to 128kbps and is then unlimited.

Includes:
Uncapped Unshaped bandwidth
5 Static IP addresses
Subject to 12 months contract
Billion router on rental basis

Threshold //Once Off //Per Month
5 GB //R1500.00 //R 520.00

This must be the cheapest uncapped in SA at the moment.

5Gb threshold, oh please...

The router is no added to that price and they do not say what it will cost to rent one or if you would need one from them.

And 128 once your threshold has been reached?????
No thanks.

These are more like the actual uncapped services they offer:

If it says threshold then its not $%^&ing uncapped

+1 - that's like a "Eat as much pizza as you want" offer, but the restaurant only allowing you one slice every 3 hours after you had your first 2 slices.

It's not uncapped when there's "throttling' involved. You have to use the full potential of your line speed, why cut it down to 128k ??

And even when the line is supposedly not being throttled it feels like using a 56k dial up

Can we not complain about such things to the ASA?? That has to be false & intentionally misleading advertising.

TECHNICALLY, line speed is not throttled, the line is still capable of running at it's maximum speed (Connect another account on the same line), so, TECHNICALLY, you could argue that point alone with the ASA.

But, I don't think it's worth the effort, especially considering they they'll get even more free publicity from the ASA ruling than we have already given them.

EDIT: Wait wait wait - this line : These are the only Uncapped packages available on 4096kbps line speed IS A BLATANT LIE because the uncapped part, which only happens after the 5GB cap (by their own wording) can only run at 128Kb/s. Is this line from them though?

Uncapped in SA != Uncapped for the rest of the world.

ICASA != a functional, authorative, useful entity.

Just to clear up any confusion:
uncapped - used especially of front teeth; "natural uncapped teeth"
uncrowned - not having an (artificial) crown on a tooth; used especially of molars and bicuspids; "uncrowned teeth badly in need of attention"

There.
