"Uncapped"? - not so much!

I get really frustrated with telkom and other ISP's that offer "great value uncapped" packages - but they don't tell you they throttle you to death! How many gigs CAN you really download on a telkom FAST line and uncapped data? I am guessing 20Gig ave?
Let's see - anybody out there want to share how much they managed to download per month on fast with telkom uncapped package?

Fast = 2Mbps?
 
If you are so frustrated with those cheap uncapped accounts why dont you purchase an uncapped, unshaped account for a couple of thousand? Oh wait... you want cheap....

That's R397, plus the Telkom lines (I prefer Telkom keeping the lines) at R331.5 (voice line plus ADLS 2mbps). So that's R728.50 overall.

And yes, you can do around 300GB on it per month, so that's around R2.42 per GB.

Upgrade your line speed.

Usage limits go up with line speed.
 
Used 600Gb once or twice on my 10mb uncapped. Realised the interwebs in not going anywhere. Now I normally use about 160-200Gb per month.
 
I have the webafrica 20mbps business uncapped. It is mostly good. I do however think I will save a lot of money simply buying capped. Unfortunately all the ISP's have started this bull**** of x gigs plus y gigs between 12 and 6.


Very difficult to look at past months's usage and work out what was used when.

Just look at your monthly usage and make sure your day time GBs can cover 80% of your usage.

TI uncapped with 2Mb/s ADSL line. And no I'm not throttled yet, could probably get to 200GB easily. I think I usually average about 120-130GB a month, this month is the exception.

Yet I got warned at 80Gb on 2Meg Telkom and told this was too much.

Don't touch Telkom with a barge pole. It's a recipe for anxiety and BS. Even the call centre doesn't work.
