Unlocked the 5G connection today

Nobody said it's hard to understand, in fact I clearly said not available in my area yet and commented on the price. No need to get your knickers in a knot now

Thinking about getting Rain's 5G service. I have coverage. Currently on Telkom LTE-A Uncapped, but service is bloody slow at times or even unstable.

Just scared I get the same service after a few months >.<

yeah at that modem price is can be an annoyance if it doesnt work as expected, coverage needs to be 100% even with my being in coverage i had such issues getting the modem in the right position. Literally moving it a few centimeters can mean 200mbps of speed

I thought that too, but then realised one tower was 4G and one was 5G. Its happening at work and at home as well. If I move my router to the one side of the office, I get terrible download but great upload, move it to the other side, and get good downloads and bad uploads

Are you sure? Here’s the spec sheet for CPE PRO.

Anything less than 4x4 mimo means the 5G connection will drop. Since the CPE only has 2 ports it means by design it does not have more than 2x2 mimo on external antenna.

5G will not work. If signal is bad it's better to contact Rain 5G VIP and ask for an external unit. I don't know what is the minimum requirement for them to install an external unit though.

Yep, that's why I' worried :P Also I don't want to cancel my Telkom one for R530 a month and get R1000 a month one and it doesn't work. There's no undo button to get my special rated Telkom account back

You can sell R530 uncap to someone, plenty of okes wanting to buy it
