The majority of the tuks students do not give a dam about politics (or any university in SA). The EFF and SASCO have always tried to disrupt proceedings on campus and never had student support. The thing is though when they bring the barbarism that we saw at UCT to Tuks then you will find that the tuks students are more likely to stand up for their institution, that is already happening.

I think it is because the Afrikaans students are much better organised with their koshuis culture and social organisations. The UCT kids were asleep when this started at Tuks the anti Afrikaans racism has been going on for years. Also the policy at UCT since the Rhodes must fall has been pretty much appeasement, you found English lighties protesting against Rhodes with their masochistic white guilt complex. That doesnt exist at the Afrikaans Universities. The lighttiest who asked for the statue to be removed were to stupid to see that this was not just about a statute or symbolism, these guys are unappeasable.
