Upcoming Games

Really looking forward to Sonic Racing 4 too. The best kart racing series that's not Mario Kart.

 
For us adventure/telltale fans out here... This looks pretty damn cool lol. Will check it out for sure.

They will also need to explain how Ciri can use Witcher signs and not die from Witcher potions

She is at best a Monster Slayer with Elder blood

Isn't it explained in the books? Genuine question because I haven't read them. I know that The Witcher's orginal author described Ciri as a fully-fledged witcher in the books though. She has been trained as a witcher and in this trailer you can see in her eyes she has mutated. She has cat eyes.

Also, it should have been clear for anyone who has played Witcher 3 that she would be the protag in Witcher 4. Or at least that's how I always saw it that her short playable parts were sort of a taste of things to come in the future.
 
Also remember that Ciri is of the School of the Lynx (as hinted in the first teaser trailer). The Lynx is brand new so one knows anything about the school or what they're about etc.

Could be that she started it because she isn't a traditional witcher or something like that.

Games are not the books
CDPR started writing their own story when they made the first game

Also, Witcher 3 has 3 endings. In two of them Ciri never starts hunting monsters, so no, it's not made clear she will be the protag on her own game. They are basically making one ending canon and the rest pointless

Here would have been a better game

An unknown Witcher school in the mountains. Untouched, no clue what's going on in the rest of the world. They still train and create new Witchers. You are one of those young Witchers, ready to go out into the world and start monster hunting. You create you own Witcher character
A few hours into the game you run into the White Wolf himself and a new story begins

That's the game I wanted

Disagree

Wither 3 had 3 endings
Only 1 has Ciri start monster hunting

Also, as I said just now, the games are their own separate story

I'm not saying the game will suck
Will probably be good

I'm just disappointed they went with the obvious route instead of trying something new

I don't mind it really. It would have been nice to go a more open route, with character creation etc.

But Ciri is generally a well-liked character I think and it makes things easier in terms of narrative, voice acting etc. Keeps the cost of the game down without any real limitations.

Also expands on an existing character which I like.

I like Ciri as a character
The entire Witcher series as good female characters

I just prefer Role-playing as a man

Now you, see, that's where it get's tricky

There are so many story arcs that change based on decision you make

Depending on the ending and the choices you make, on your vineyard in Blood and Wine it will be Yennifer, Triss or Ciri who lives with Geralt

So which is going to be canon?
