I have a Billion 5200 ADSL router and have tried to set the DDNS settings under access management. Only thing is, dyndns.org isn't being updated when my IP changes.

Is there something I'm missing?

1) Did you fill in the fields correctly?
2) Does your account have international cap?
3) Are you dialing the account from your router or from your PC?

You can always run the DynDNS client from a PC to update it.

1) I think so. Double checked all the fields to make sure and it all seems right.
2) No
3) From the router

I know I can install software on the PC, was just wondering why it's not working from the router.

dyndns.org works fine on my entry level Billion 7300 ADSL router

My suggestion is to log into your dyndns account via a web browser and verify that your router is connecting and updating.
If you have the Pro version you can actually view the logs to see when the updates are happening.

I have the free version. I've logged in to dyndns and it's pretty clear the router isn't updating. I had a look at the router log and nothing there seems to indicate it's trying to talk to dyndns either.

Can anyone remember the Billion rep's nick? Maybe I can pm him for some help.

Hi Speedster,

Sometimes www.dyndns.org takes very long to update, but it shouldn't take days. I recommend you check if you have the latest firmware. Please also check if your dyndns account is setup correctly. Does pinging your hostname resolve to an IP?

Also had the same problem with that exact modem. 100% sure the configuration was correct, but it just would not update DynDNS.

Plugged in a different modem and it updated it instantaneously.
