Upgrading a SIM only contract before 24 months

I signed a SIM Only Smart Contract 1 earlier this year. To my frustration, it was loaded as a "full" Smart Contract 1, which is R40/month more. I reported it nearly two months ago, but haven't received a credit yet.

Now I want 7" tablet. So I figure that the easiest is to upgrade to a contract that includes the device.

In general: Does anyone here have experience with upgrading a SIM Only Contract before the end of the 24 months ? Perhaps upgrading an i5promo ?

Unfortunately as far as I know it isn't possible.

Rather cancel your existing smart contract if you didn't get any device whatsoever thentake up a new contract or pay the difference, maybe the call centre can help you
