Urbanol

Some days I wish that would be the case, but then I look at the little one that will grow up without a father..... He used to listen to me when I tell him he is not doing well and need to see the doc. But now the family has approached him in anger, threatening him and all sorts.... No ways he is gonna do anything now.

Thankfully no sprogs were fruited from my relationship, but ja, my sympathies for all involved, it really isn't an easy situation to deal with, from either side :(

if someone is taking medication for mental health there is a problem no?
I am also on meds for anxiety but I know why
I also know why but unfortunately there's no way to get rid of it.....I'm working on it but it's going to be very very hard

She only wants me on it for a month.

I've got BPD - on lexamil....very low dose. Unfortunately my best friend's hubby passed away 2 months ago and she's kinda replacing him with me and I'm just not coping. I had my first real anxiety attack over the weekend and my psych put me on the urbanol.

i have occasional anxiety attacks, my doctor gave me 30 ativan , which i keep on me, and if i feel all is getting a bit much, i take one, that said, i've had that bottle for about 8 months and more than half left

I thought that wa how you liked it ;)

ps, maybe talk to your psych about upping the lexamil rather than going on urbanol?

My doc put me on Urbanol when she put me on anti depressants a few years ago. Cant say it did much to me...no side effects, but did not feel like it helped much either. Had no issue going off it either when it comes to adictivenes. /shrug
Urbanol never worked for me so I was given stronger benzos. Not really much you can do for the side effects Emam. Try taking it later in the morning once you've eaten and then later in the evening. Might help a bit, that helped me when I was on benzos.

Been on 5mg a day for years (sometimes take 2 or even 3 a day), no issues, did stop for 2 months last year, did not get any withdrawal symptoms, then started again as it seems to actually help a bit... was only the first week or so that it made me feel like a zombie

Also also taking 10mg Lexamil a day

And then in the eve I take a 100mg dopaquel tablet and off to sleep I go

Maybe you need something hard to take your mind off things ?

I have been on so many AD medications, but Trazodone best accommodated me. 4 years on 100mg and dropped to 50mg some time ago as it turned me into an always tired state. I also believe that it messed up my short-term memory. I would sit in meetings or general discussions remembering close to nothing and I couldn’t structure my sentences anymore, it has now since improved on the lower dosage.

My Doc put me on Stresam for "anxiety". Not your typical type of anxiety though - my brain believes that I don't get enough oxygen even though my sats are 80% and above. The pill does nothing more than let me breathe. SO and daughter have more acute anxiety - panic attacks etc. When they take it, it calms them down almost immediately. Makes them a little sleepy which helps as they suffer insomnia.

There are very few side effects with this drug. Perhaps worth looking into when you are done with your month.

Also been on Trazadone 100mg for quite a few years now. I have just changed to the 50mg at the beginning of December last year, must say I had some really bad nightmares for the first couple of weeks.
Going to see how it goes because I would like to stop it all together.

Venlafaxine (Venlor XR) changed my life. I was an anxious, stressed mess. Now I feel like a new person. Urbanol made me feel very chilled and mellow, but also a bit numb - that is it's short term purpose to get your through a difficult time. It's not for long term. Try an SNRI (serotonin and neuroepinefrine) combined inhibitor - it treats the "happiness" neurotransmitter as well as the "fight or flight feeling scared to death" neuro transmitter.

Also go to a pshycologist and talk about your problems.

It's about finding the meds that match your body chemistry.

Anxiety and Panic attacks are a brain disease, like any other disease. It's not your fault. Don't feel guilty like you should just "snap out of it". People without anxiety cannot understand why you can't just "think positive" and not worry. It's a neuro-chemical problem. So treat it like you would high blood pressure or cholesterol.
