So the good ol' boys were just going about their business when the jogger ran up to them and tried to steal their guns?

Because that's what you're saying.
No obviously they thought the criminal was suspicious and they were correct. Thank goodness for the good ol' boys and one less criminal scum.

The 5 had later evidence that exonerated them. Michael Flynn does not. As I said:
There hasn't been any new evidence that I'm aware of to exonerate him
We're not talking about evidence. As said, you're trying to move goal posts. We're talking about your "pleading guilty = proof of guilt", from first post, do you really want to use 'pleading guilty' as your argument?
Both plead guilty. Both get off.
One you defend.
One you cry miscarriage of justice.

I'm not moving goalposts, you're just pathetically gaslighting me. Give it a rest. I clarified what I meant and it's perfectly consistent.

Not in South Africa. If they have a gun or a knife and your life is in danger then you can engage. If they are just taking your TV I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to shoot. You can tell them to put it down and most (sane) people would do so if a guy with a gun told you to do so.
I know that, but that is why the law in South Africa regarding home invaders is stupid.

No, I'm making a point, pleading guilty is not proof of guilt. Its not a miscarriage of justice is someone who pleads guilty gets off, just like the 5 were proven innocent. People plead guilty for many reasons, cops force it, bad lawyers, threatening family members, your kids etc... pleading guilty is not proof, if it were, many more would still be locked up around the world

The criminal scum got charged with murder at least.

And as I said, if further proof came to light then he could be released. As it stands there is no reason to let him go, and pleading guilty IS proof of guilt as far as the law is concerned.

Standard procedure. The same happens in SA. If you shoot someone. They'll be "acquitted" I believe is the current US term. Found not guilty

A guilty plea entered as part of a plea bargain by a criminal defendant who denies committing the crime or who does not actually admit his guilt. In federal courts, such plea may be accepted as long as there is evidence that the defendant is actually guilty

It's not standard procedure in the US actually, if it was it wouldn't have taken two months to charge them.
