Trevor is funny ‘tho, and thoughtful. And he’s carved out a place for himself in a tough industry in a market that’s nearly seven times bigger than SA. All in all, he done good.
Financially he has done brilliantly, no question.

I suspect he would have much better material if he was actually free to write / say whatever he wishes, I seriously doubt that is the case.

Go back in history and you won't find a roast at this level of Obama during his tenure as president either. He was jokes with for golfing once or twice, that's about it, in 8 years. The guy who set the world record for drone executions and got caught lying about "no boots on the ground in Syria" at least a dozen times.

Yeah, he golfed too much, oooh, burn ...

To be fair, he wasn’t a walking, talking front page of the Onion with orange skin and blonde hair plugs.

You know he’s one of the show’s writers ‘tho, don’t you?
Also, Comedy Central has way more freedom than the big networks. So there is that.

Honestly ‘tho, I still miss Jon and, much as I love him now, Stephen’s Colbert Report was the greatest political satire show... Ever.
Honestly I can't stand TN or those late night talk shows but different strokes and all.

I dislike the way that he's been allowed to escape any investigation into his alleged sexual offences, but, he must be treated as innocent unless these are proven.

His testimony, on the other hand, should be enough to preclude him from the job. He's not sufficiently mentally stable. If he was merely a candidate for a magistrates court in RSA I'd still have my doubts. But this job is a lifelong commitment in the highest court in the US, and Mr. Kavanaugh appears to be far from the best candidate.

The Republican think tank that came up with this guy surely had a few other names, names of people who are not so open to criticism?

The Federalist Society gave Trump the list he's allowed to choose from, and they don't really care. So yeah, they could have lined up any drone that would do the same thing for them.

But I suspect Trump just didn't want to back down (because he's an egomaniac), and incidentally Kavanaugh wrote an opinion in 2009 saying he doesn't think sitting presidents should be indicted. Also conveniently changed his mind (after railing against Clinton) on expanding the presidency's power when he started working for Bush. ;)

It's already paying dividends, as today Kavanaugh pretty much said the federal govt. can detain immigrants indefinitely w/o bail hearings, that their power to do so is unfettered & in fact intended to be harsh in its application. Even fellow Trump appointee, Gorsuch, seemed troubled by it. Due process lovers curiously not minding this.

You are not wrong, but nor is Trump.

I think the interest rate changes are a good thing, it needs to be done. However I think a more prolonged time at which it's done would be better. The rate changes are being done too quickly and this is creating market pressure. It needs to be done, but maybe raise it once a year maybe instead of 3 maybe 4 a year.

I agree! They're raising too early, and raised it too early during Obama's tenure, too.

Although broadly Trump has been good with the Fed, as he's made good picks that continue Obama's direction.

Fresh off his attempt to close black-majority polling places, this douchebag is now trying another way to keep people from voting.

It's absurd that one of the candidates in the race is the person in charge of the elections and voters roll.

Watch the Georgia Minority Vote Disappear Before Your Eyes

Kemp is Georgia Secretary of State, the state’s top elections official. He has decreased the overall number of voters in Georgia since 2012 by more than 1 million — all while purging the rolls in a way that has predominantly affected black residents. Kemp is also the Republican nominee for governor. Democrat Stacey Abrams, the first African American woman nominated by a major party for that job anywhere in the country, is competing against a rival who is also the referee.

...

This past Tuesday, the deadline for Georgia residents to register to vote, the AP reported that at Kemp’s insistence, more than 53,000 voter applications have been suspended indefinitely. More than two-thirds of those applications were filed by black people. As the AP report makes clear, a lot of people in Georgia don’t even know that this has happened to them. One woman, while trying to demonstrate to her college students how Georgians can verify their registration, discovered that she had been removed from the rolls, herself.

Over in North Dakota, the GOP is disenfranchising Native Americans, because they don't like who they vote for.

Fair warning, tRump folk are not fans of the shows and they’ll be along shortly to tell you so.

If that kind of mindless comedy is your thing then there's nothing wrong with it.
The only problem Trump folk have with it is if you try and present it here as anything but a mindless comedy show.

One man’s mindless comedy is another man’s antidote to a flood of racist voter suppression and babies in cages and kleptocratic administration news.

Yes, good for you. I play games if I want to escape the real world.

I like Colbert but I agree he was better in full on satire mode. Can't stand Seth Meyers or Samantha Bee, something about them just rubs me the wrong way. I like Jim Jeffries, and John Oliver, and Hasan Minhaj, and the Some More News show from Cracked.

You won't find a roast of Mbeki at the level of Zuma either, some presidents have more comedic material than others.

Without talking to the victim or the perpretator, or the 3rd witness, or any of the people that had sworn statements contradicting what he claimed.

Temujin said Trump said there shouldn't be be limits. Thanks for proving he was lying. :)

Not for lack of trying, so again don't be dishonest. They tried getting in contact with witnesses...

This isn't remotely true, Pitbull. Gorsuch got confirmed without a hitch.

If you want an example of someone being unjustly kept from the court - Merrick Garland. Didn't even get a hearing, much less a vote for almost a year. For literally no justifiable reason. ;)
