[CITATION DAMN WELL NEEDED]

Asylum from what? Mexico? If their home country really is that bad, surely the liberal, diversity paradise of Mexico would be able to take them?

Asylum from domestic violence, gang violence, religious persecution. What the hell kind of question is that?

As for the inhumanity about the way they are treated...
Look what they are complaining about.

It is because the US is not giving the people they detain enough healthcare. That is a pretty first world problem..

No, mainly they're complaining because their children are being forcibly separated from them and placed in detention centers where they can't contact them.

Asylum has three basic requirements. First, an asylum applicant must establish that he or she fears persecution in their home country.[3] Second, the applicant must prove that he or she would be persecuted on account of one of five protected grounds: race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or particular social group. Third, an applicant must establish that the government is either involved in the persecution, or unable to control the conduct of private actors.

Not a valid category.

With those two measures you claimed:

2017 was Mexico's deadliest year on record, with 29,168 murders recorded, leading to a murder rate of 20.5 per 100,000 inhabitants in 2017, compared with 19.4 in 2011. [13]

The crime statistics in this factsheet are presented in both absolute numbers (19,016 murders, for example) and crime rates (34.1 murders per 100,000). The crime rate is used to allow fair comparisons between years, given that populations generally grow.

I would say living in the Western Cape entitles me to be worried about gang violence as much as the average Mexican. Since I have now demonstrated that the murder rate is worse in South Africa than in Mexico, can I now apply for asylum?

The people who have been applying for asylum at the border are not thrown into camps. They are told to wait in line...

So you know for sure that no asylum seekers have been separated? Not one?

It wouldn't surprise me, but that is probably because the system is swamped with people who do not need asylum. As in the vast majority of people going into the US illegally.

Debating excuses made for an evil policy isn't something that interests me, sorry.

And then when said government wants to put in measures that would actually help the situation, (like a wall), they are literately an army of mecha-Hiters.

:crylaugh:

You don't think reducing the amount of people going through the system will make it better for everyone. Oh wait, you must be in the camp where everyone and their dog can get full US citizenship just by rocking up.

Sorry I'm also not interested in debating stupid policies, or strawman arguments :)

I would actually suggest sending everybody home to go and sort out their own mess would be the best option. Escaping to the US is just to easy so the South American shîtholes will just continue to be shîtholes for ever.

But that's probably okay for some people here who view those socialist disasters as sacred cows.

Breaking on MSNBC as I type... Paul Manafort's $10M bail has just been revoked. He's being transported to jail now.

My goodness Jeff Sessions triggered all the anti-religious bigots and snowflakes with his Bible quotes. Hilarious!
