Border crossings have been on a decline for years now.
Wow, you're an oracle. You should read the terms and conditions.

Hint: Past performance is not indicative of future results. South America isn't getting better.

Plus my knee rheumatism flares right up when border crossings are going to increase. It's real man.

As opposed to you pulling out a guess from your arse on future performance. Oracle indeed Mac.

Couldn’t listen to the whole thing. Just broke my heart.

Same.

I think some folk here have a... I'm going to go with 'particular' impression of border crossing. The border isn't all security fences and there are places you can simply walk across. Most of the folk heading into the States take that walk and, as soon as they're in the US, they just stop and wait for a border patrol to find them and take them in for processing.

It's that or wait for days or weeks at the ports of entry.

Hence the need for a wall.

I used to be in the camp that didn’t like illegals, but going through the process for my wife, it’s been 11 months and I had to enlist the help of my congressman to get a response from Immigration. The process is fundamentally broken and takes to long. I’m actually getting to the point to hire a coyote. :)

No contention there. The US immigration system is terribly broken. Which leads to many knock-on effects.

I remember when we moved to the US, my father is a Texan by birth and we kids all got passports but my mother is British. One day they called up her employer and asked them, did they realize they were hiring an illegal immigrant? My dad flipped out, marched into the home office or whatever it's called there, and demanded that they grant her citizenship - which they did. I think I was about 13, I can remember hanging around the whole day outside of the building bored stupid.

Michael Avenatti tweeted he's getting into this fight. Call him. Bonus points, he's already under the skin of everyone driving the s**tshow this week.

There are better ways, and on that list, mini-Jim Crow... sorry, I mean Jefferson Beauregard's 'zero-tollerance' is right at the bottom.
There is nothing better than a physical barrier. It takes all other hypotheticals off the table.
