US protests/riots 2020

The answer is far more simple. No politics in sports. That seems like the best compromise.
I agree. Luckily fans are walking out. These multi millionaires will soon have to reevaluate their priorities.

DHS actually are aware of Antifa organisation. Why do you think everything suddenly calms down after they start arresting them.

Stop living under a rock

You're arguing with a guy who gets his news from here...

You're saying China is funding the Biden campaign??? We must impeach immediately!

Imagine my shock that a bunch of communists are funded by communists.

"Question: Regulations passed in the Obama era are making the lives of our farmers difficult, how will your government resolve this?"
"Answer: "something, something, we will pay you to grow crops that absorb carbon emissions, something, something, you can extract methane from manure to make it less harmful to the environment"

Firstly, all plants absorb carbon dioxide. The problem is that when they decay (either by bacteria or in something's stomach), they re-release that carbon. So it really will do squat to help the envrionment other than make a bunch of government-sponsored biomass.
And as Thunderf00t points out, you probably need about 20 million trees per day to even start making an impact.

Secondly, he answered the question by effectively stating that his government would want more regulations in farming.

Just a plain old generic answer would have been better:
"Hey there, yes I understand that regulatory burden can have a negative impact on business. If I am president, one of the things my government will strive to do is to make the regulatory system work for everyone. As no government policy program is perfect, there very well might have been regulations in place that were too restrictive on farming activity. Our regulations need to be evidence based and have specific targets such that they don't impose undue burden on anyone."

Plants don't re-release all the carbon into the atmosphere when they decay. Plenty of carbon gets trapped and absorbed into the ground. Healthy soil has a lot of carbon matter in it.

Large scale monocrop farming where they just kill everything is problematic though, but the destruction of the soil is probably a bigger concern than the carbon emissions.

The criticism of teamtrees thing is stupid, because deforestation = bad. Planting trees = good.
The main criticism seem to be that it isn't big enough so it is invective is stupid criticism. That could be used as an argument against any good that everyone does that won't change the whole world. Everyone should be planting trees not just that one charity. Everything good helps.

You touch on something that is a pet peeve of mine with regards to people harping on about the latest environmental bandwagon.

Soil quality.

It happens everywhere and people don't even seem to consider it. How many homes still have a compost heap? All the plant materials are collected and carted away, but how often is compost worked back into the soil? The natural process is being interrupted. It is a very slow process which is probably why people don't give it much though, but eventually you'll be left with sandy soil everywhere.

I'm agreeing with you.
We've had a compost heap for decades. I remember even having one when I was 10 years old, in England.
The problem of industrial-strength agriculture is bigger than Trump/Biden. Neither candidate has a good answer to it.

Now if only I had children whom I could convince that carting around a wheel-barrow full of compost is a fun game. Guess I'll have to wait for my sister's kids to come visit

By the way once one starts to look at soil holistically you realise weeds are actually just pioneer plants.
