Election officials said that the group stayed about 100 feet from the entrance to the building and, contrary to posts on social media, were not directly blocking access to the building. But they acknowledged that some voters and polling staff members felt intimidated by what some saw as protesters.

Surveillance video seemed to show words exchanged between Gardner, his father and protesters before Gardner, flashing a gun, backed away. Gardner was shoved to the ground by two people before he fired two shots, sending people scrambling. Scurlock then jumped on Gardner's back and was shot by Gardner.

How progressives read this:

Surveillance video seemed to show words of violence exchanged between known Neo-Nazi Gardner, his anti-semetic father and protesters of peace before Gardner, flashing an assault weapon, backed away. Gardner was peacefully shoved to the ground by two people before he fired two shots of hate, sending people scrambling. Scurlock, local hero and anti-fascist then jumped on Gardner's back to crush white supremacy and was shot by Gardner.
