USB drivers for Android devices

Hey all

I'm having issues getting Android devices connected to my laptop. Most recent example is a Blackview BV6800 Pro. The laptop recognizes something is plugged in, but doesn't open the device options. If I go to Devices under the control panel, the Blackview is there but I get the message that the device driver isn't installed. Using the troubleshoot function to automatically search for and install drivers doesn't work. I've googled "usb drivers for android" and installed 5+ programmes, but nothing seems to work. I'm running on Windows 10 64 bit by the way. I had the same issue with Trimble devices because Windows Mobile Device Centre doesn't work in Windows 10, but these Blackviews are replacing the Trimbles, so I need to get them connected!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to access MTP?

I need to view the content of the phone on the PC, to transfer files across. Also, we use Cybertracker software which I need to install from the PC to the phone.
 
If you plug in the Blackview device, it should show on it's screen a some sort of USB connection to the computer. Something like this:

Ensure that its on the "File Transfer" or "MTP" mode

That's the problem, it's not. Seems Windows is missing some critical drivers. And I just can't get the right ones installed

Did this happen recently?

Reason I ask, is because one of our phones started this schidt last night, outa the blue.
Its just the one phone out of 6 that does that.

Thanks. Had a quick look and search on the phone but don't see anything about developer mode. But will have a deeper look

We got a bunch of new phones for work and I'm trying to set them up. So it isn't anything out of the blue like they were working previously. My Huawei P30 Pro connects without any issue though (through the phone app)

mmmm .........

I did find android USB drivers on XDA forums, and did an uninstall / reinstall.
Made no difference :(
 
Developer mode is usually locked behind a few taps of a field in the version/status screen,depending on the Android version
And the USB Driver for debug mode is then available in the Android SDK installer
 
Thanks for all the advice guys. I managed to get developer mode on, that didn't make a difference. Downloaded the drivers, tried installing them automatically and tried manually pointing windows towards that folder to install for the device, didn't work. All I managed to do was use HiSuite from my Huawei to connect with it. So I can transfer files, but I still can't view the phone and its contents under file explorer.
