I'm obsessed with the Mazda's look, and the interior is amazing. I love the Audi's interior too, and it looks good from the outside (nothing special though, but it's a good look that will still look good years on).

Mazda comes with everything, blind spot monitor, full bose audio, rear camera and park distance, many safety features, etc.

But, the Audi's infotainment seems really nice. It's a bit of a gamble with the features on the Audis as there are so many options possible.

I was set on the Mazda, but I realised that it's possible to get a newish A3 for a similar price.
Yeah the Germans will make you pay for everything. But just look at the options you will only need and focus on those. You don't need a fully equipped car .

There's also the A1, but I feel like the A3 is the 'full' Audi experience and the A1 is like Audi-lite :D

Nothing wrong with an A1. It's a much nicer polo. We had both a polo gti and A1 of the same generation. The A1 much better put together. Materials. The new Gen A1 is the new polo platform which basically = A3/Golf.

A brand new A3 Sportback 35tfsi with almost no options is R650k, WTF :( What is up with these new car prices...

The A1 is nice, but I would take the polo over it, with matrix headlights, sunroof, full digital dash and composite media and save some cash. I just looked at the A3s for sale right now and holy hell they are expensive, and most seem to be base spec.

Don't like VW much, it's too boring, and the Polo feels cheap inside :(

I would go audi! I drive the biggest audi suv on the market

After 10 years, I still get shivers when I start her!

Take both for a test drive. Then you would know.

Specs on paper doesnt say much

I've driven the A1 30 and the Mazda, not an A3 yet.

Out of the A1 and the Mazda, the Mazda has a quieter cabin and a better drive. I know the A3 will be different though.

A3 will most likely have a better resale value, but higher maintenance cost
Madza 3 will have lower resale value, but lower maintenance cost

If you want attention, get the Mazda 3

I like the lower maintenance cost. From what I understand, Audi offers a 5 year/100k maintenance AND service, while Mazda has a 3 year/unlimited service only.

No idea what the cost of extending and/or adding the Mazda maintenance on would be.

Mazda. Contrary to popular belief, the germans do NOT make good cars... anymore that is... they basically all the same. Go with the Mazda as the feature list is what you will use more.
