Using a data sim for voice

Can you use a telkom mobile data sim(example the 60gb+60gb sim)for voice calls on your phone if you load prepaid talktime?

I don't know. I recall voice in the multi Sim (data primary) is really uncompetitive like R2.80 and on per minute billing.

Try loading R5 or so of airtime. If it works, you're sorted.

If not, then it's only R5 wasted...

Dont have one at this time.Considering it to solve data cost problem.Might also do it with Cell C data sim.

Well if you buy the prepaid 60+60GB why not?

You can buy that data bundle on sim sonke prepaid and 8ta more prepaid so I see no reason why you can use it for voice. If you have changed your tarrif plan to PSB data price plan then call rates will be very expensive....

Expensive and you have to be in TM coverage area, as such PSB SIM is not roaming.

It is a mistake though that data sims can't call the helpline.

The call charges will depend on the package that your Sim card was activated on.

If your Sim card was activated on Sim Sonke you will be charged with the Sim Sonke rate and if you are on 8tamore package you will be charged with the 8tamore rates.

Thanks Telkom Mobile. I have checked your website.As I understand it I must first get a prepaid sim card and the purchase R1800 of airtime and use that airtime to buy the 60GB +60GB data.
One more question, does sms and airtime bundles exspire after a certain period ,I already know that the
60GB +60GB data bundle expires after 1 year?

As far as I am aware (Go BIG 120) can be used on any prepaid tariff and voice calls are allowed.
