Using an iPhone made me realize why I love Android

Reading it reminded me of another thing I found annoying during my short iOS adventure. The back button.
Since there is no back button on the phone/OS itself, each app has it's own. And they put it on the top left (last time I used an iPhone at least). The worst place to put a button on a large phone when you are right handed.

Again, iOS has better apps.
My wife keeps her old iPhone around for the exercise apps she uses, which can easily airplay to our Samsung TV. On her new Samsung phone it doesn't show the option to cast the app to our Samsung TV....

Facebook messenger had some strange issue on the Android phone. It wouldn't send or refresh or something.

Other than that my wife has no complaints going from a high end iPhone XR to a mid range Samsung A52, her first ever Android phone after 3 generations of iPhones.

Thanks don't mind waiting since the phone still works and functions. Also since Android is modular and the browser is decoupled from the OS a similar Safari like bug in Android will just be an app update https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview and not a 1gig download.
Well a year later, the Iphone you have just now purchased is obsolete. Brought out by Apple's multiplier. How much more the junk model is that you paid R1300pm for, compared to the new model that's just been launched. Damn that sucks.

But in all honesty. What can you do with an Iphone 13 pro that you cant do on an Iphone 6. Please humor me this.

I guess you must be forking out thousands a month for your Iphone too.

Humour us. What do you use your iphone for?

Why do you so desperately want to be humored?

Ipone 13 pro vs iphone 6

1. They can both make phonecalls
2. They can both browse the internet
3. You can send smses and instant messages
4. It can take photos and record videos (yip the Iphone 6 can record 4k). (but alas too big to send really)
5. They both support Apple Pay
6. It can play music
7. You use it as a hotspot

Practically they can do the same thing at about the same quality or well decent enough for every day usage.

So why spend R24k on something that can be done with a R1.5k phone? Just because its the latest and used to show off, like a Golf GTI with spinners? The entry polo can have the same trimmings and still save you on fuel.

You partially right, but when you watch Youtubers like Marques Brownlee reviewing the newest iPhone you just can't resist buying ...

If your Nokia 5110 still works, great. I upgraded my Samsungs every 2 years (roughly) and I'll probably be doing the same with my iPhones. In any event, it's none of your damn business what I do with my money.

PS. my iPhone 12 is costing me R200 per month. Just saying.

You have some valid points but consumers don't just buy cellphones for functionality, as you listed. Brand perception plays a huge factor my friend. The metrics that make-up why a product sells are many, cost is one of them but this would also be depend on the market you aim to penetrate.

You are looking at a handful of features and conveniently ignoring hardware advances between those models. Does a 6 have the same battery life, performance, LiDAR Scanner, NFC, 120hz screen...etc.

If those 7 things are all you care about why would you buy an expensive phone anyway, never mind it being Apple, Samsung or Google...just get some cheap shite like dogee and call it a day.

Im in a very fortunate position of having an Idiotphone and an android,
idiotphone was a 7 now got "upgrade" to a 12
(same Fsking deal, only stupider and heavier)

Idiotphone on a MDM so yes some things blocked like icloud as well as a few other things, but the 5g works, and will admit, I use the tymebank app and mcdonalds app,
as they both wont work with my Rooted S9, whatever, I can live with that...

but when I switch between the 2, its like coming home on android, everything works the way you expect it to.
if I want to copy music, no probz, how do you want to transfer, Cable, BT, ShareIT, memory card, OTG stick how buddy?

idiotphone, nope I'm an idiotphone, and Im for FSking Idiots who buy me!
like @SauRoNZA , need idiottunes and a specific apple cable, not just any cable will do for the idiotphone, an original FSKing Idiotphone cable!!!!!

if anything, I'm glad I never fell for this overpriced and stupid sh*t, Ive had this oppertunity to live with an idiotphone for long enough
to NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS BUY THIS OVERPRICED PRETENTIOUS TRASH!!!

I'll stick to my Android, loads of choice and options, many of them much better than an idiotphone will ever be.
(samsung, Xoemei,LG,and many many others, from cheapy to expensive)

when I get a contract I will never buy apple, no matter how cheap it is and no matter how many pretentious idiots use it on their way to a yoga class.
People try convince me and all I can think of

is when they collect all our Idiotphone 7's and send them for shredding,

I will film it and use the sound of the idiotphones being ground to dust, as my Ringtone.

thats something you cant do on an idiotphone, you have X and no more ringtones, for the rest, pay idiot-money to buy idiot-tunes to put idiot-tones on your idiotphone.

will probably even post it here the sound of the idiotphones returning to the dust they came from.

Darn that back button, you cant go back. I hate it for that reason.

Macs like top left, just to be different to pcs who put it on top right. Gumtree is another problematic app by the way. It just cant do what the Android can do.

Apparently not:

How many other apps won't function on your rooted device?

I also used to think the back button is the end-all and be-all of everything. Turns out it's not. It takes about 5 seconds to get used to Apple's way of navigating the phone.
