Not sure about it being a "value" find but this looks interesting

Roux must have deep pockets. Very, VERY deep pockets.

Or he has a second car.

I’ve heard those are moer expensive to repair.
Very! You can read on Landy and Jag forums about people's woes with that very same 2.7 diesel.

My car is the lower spec 2.2 inline 4, less power but also less that can go wrong :p

Can't find the ad now, but there was a Peugeot 207 1.4 HDI on the local 'Tree for R44k. Still in good nick, but it was black in colour and the paint was starting to fade on the roof and bonnet.

One of the pics of the dash was showing the average fuel consumption to be 4.2l/100km:oops:

If it ended up being a reliable model it would make quite a nice city car to work and back

If it is that neglected on the outside I would hazard a guess that mechanically it was also not taken care of. On some of the 407 facebook groups there are people getting 300,000+ km out of their cars with no issues. But the key here is regular maintenance. The other thing with frog cars is your distance from the motherland, the further you are from France the less convenient the parts situation becomes.

This is what's weird.

Around here it seems like there are a grand total of four different types of car:

1) The car's engine is fit as a fiddle, but the bodywork is shoddy with bits and pieces falling off
2) The car's engine leaks more than the Exxon Valdez and smokes like a chimney but the paint has been polished so much it looks like a mirror
3) The car's alles is just moertoe, except for some reason the mags. The mags are always spotless
4) Everything on the car is pristine. These cars are only found in showrooms, though

Regular maintenance seems to be a myth in and of itself, which is a shame because it's crucial to keep a car running well. It also doesn't hurt to give the car a good wipe down by hand and get into the little crevices where dust settles. As a benefit you tend to find potential issues before they cause problems, but I do get that not everyone is car-savvy or likes to get their hands dirty in this way.

The 407 roux really wanted! Through they asking 150k :(

Has the optional infotainment system and the sun roof.
