That 2.7 is a Peugeot engine that Jaguar buy and fit, not the other way around AFAIK

Wow, what a beautiful and well kept example. Nice find.

However there is no way in hell anyone as going to pay that much for a 407. Even R75k is a bit of push if you ask me. Nice of them to drum up the 2.7 HDI though, Jag and Land Rover owners sadly know it was a bit of dud. If it was the 3.0 HDI then it's a whole different story.

Edit : Engine was known as the Ford AJD-V6/PSA DT17. I'd rather have the ES9 V6 petrol, last V6 they made...

8 cars that offer great value as used deals

Shopping for a used for under R200 000? Want something with relatively low mileage – say, 80 000 to 100 000km? Well, according to Darryl Jacobson, managing director of True Price, these are your eight best buys right now – because these vehicles have a relatively low resale value.

True Price has data pertaining to thousands of vehicles sold on bank repossession auctions on its system. This information is used to provide motorists with free vehicle evaluations. The figures in brackets behind each vehicle pertain to the actual price paid on auction as a percent of the original retail price of the vehicle.

Note, this data pertains to vehicles registered from 2015 to 2018 (both years inclusive) with a purchase price of R140 000 to R150 000 at auction.

Bear in mind however, that when sold through conventional channels, these cars don't always retail for as little as R150 000 - as a quick search on popular used car portals online lists many of these cars above R180 000 - although even then, there is still good value to be had.

1) Infiniti Q50 (resale value of 30.68%)

2) Nissan X-Trail (resale value of 42.42%)

3) Volkswagen Jetta (resale value of 46.19%)

4) Kia Cerato (resale value of 50.29%)

5) Renault Captur (resale value of 51.51%)

6) Renault Duster (resale value of 52.91%)

7) Chevrolet Cruze (resale value of 57.61%)

8) Hyundai Accent (resale value of 59.83%)

Steering probably a bit wooden though.

I'll see myself out...

Sigh....

Can't see what it is.

Vel Satis is one of the ugliest cars ever made. If I want that size car I'll get a 607. Sure the 2.9 V6 is not as good as the 3.5 - that is why Renault abandoned the V6 collab with PSA and took the one from Nissan. However, the Aisin 6-speed autobox is way better than the one in the Renault.
