Hi guys
Okay so i have had major problems lately with my vodacom k3772-z dongol. it worked fine for awhile but then i would get a Blue screen when ever i connected to the internet. especially if i tried gaming with steam or whatever.

I was using the VMC version 10.2 i think. So i upgraded the VMC software to the latest version but now i get a new problem. now the VMC software works well for like a few minutes but then the software says no device is connected even when im on the internet (but i dont get bsod anymore) really strange. normally i would just live with it but now if i try play any online games like dota or dayz i get like 3000 ping. So i pretty much am stuck between BSOD with the older version of VMC or Intense lag and invisible data usage on the latest vmc software. Im running windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. Have tried reinstalling windows but same issues.

What is your signal strength?

If your signal strength has degraded, your modem will try to draw more power. If the USB port can't supply it, the modem might reboot, causing it to disappear and reappear.
Otherwise, your modem might be faulty.

I too have had this issue before with 3G modems... Couldn't for the life of me figure out what it was. I reinstalled Windows and it worked perfectly. Try the modem in a different PC if possible, that will tell you if it is a faulty modem or not.

I have had major issues with this specific model of modem, it has a nasty habit to just disconnect from the PC and reconnect itself again. This can happen at any time, and there is almost no pattern to it. I have had days without it disconnecting and then I get other days where it disconnects from my PC every 5 minutes. For this reason I will never use ZTE modems again.

it seems like it is defiantly some kind of usb issue. I was coincidentally due for a upgrade and got a wireless wi dongol and when i connected it vias usb, blue screen different code. but when i use a router and connected internet to my pc via a lan cable i have no problems at all.
