Yeah, fibre is not the future, it should be the now. They should roll it out as fast as possible in all the cities, they could even use the government network here in Cape Town to supplement theirs, I don't think there would be an issue.

Not in South Africa...

VDSL is already pretty awesome and certainly one step in the right direction, as well as the recent VDSL price cuts. They just need to keep doing this and eventually we might catch up.

Would love that my 40Mbps badboy is lovely

Way overpriced but then again that's most of our broadband for you

Rather run the tests on the official Speedtest website. I find on the MyBB tests, especially the international one, that it doesn't have a big enough download sample so the line doesn't get to it's full speed.

I have been running a 20mb line with 50g capped data through MWEB for about 2 months now. Had endless frustrations initially and not getting much more than 13mb upload speed on my adsl+2 billion router.

Eventually had the telkom technician over only to be advised that the problem is the ADSL+2 router. Went out, bought the telkom Pace, and now run consistently at 19.10 Mb/s |1.82 Mb/s | 11 ms.

We live near a lot of the embassy's. The US runs at 100mb through the same exchange (according to the technician). They are also now starting fibre to home in the area. So will watch the space.

You mean 13mb download right?

Sounds like you got moved form ADSL 2+ to VDSL. I must say, 20Mbit VDSL seems a lot better than 20 Mbit ADSL 2+
Could just be placebo.

@Thor, I am pretty sure he meant 13Mbit download and not upload :P
