Not in South Africa...
VDSL is already pretty awesome and certainly one step in the right direction, as well as the recent VDSL price cuts. They just need to keep doing this and eventually we might catch up.
Yeah, 40mbit is certainly a lot more like how the Internet should be.Would love that my 40Mbps badboy is lovely

Not overly impressed.....
I have been running a 20mb line with 50g capped data through MWEB for about 2 months now. Had endless frustrations initially and not getting much more than 13mb upload speed on my adsl+2 billion router.
Eventually had the telkom technician over only to be advised that the problem is the ADSL+2 router. Went out, bought the telkom Pace, and now run consistently at 19.10 Mb/s |1.82 Mb/s | 11 ms.
We live near a lot of the embassy's. The US runs at 100mb through the same exchange (according to the technician). They are also now starting fibre to home in the area. So will watch the space.
Sounds like you got moved form ADSL 2+ to VDSL. I must say, 20Mbit VDSL seems a lot better than 20 Mbit ADSL 2+I have been running a 20mb line with 50g capped data through MWEB for about 2 months now.
