If it works on an adsl router it isn't vdsl. The pace router is backwards compatible, so it can do both adsl and vdsl.

Why no VDSL for me???? :( how long will telkom take to upgrade to 40mb/s?

Your area might support VDSL and they just put you onto a 20Mbit ADSL profile for whatever reason. So do not use that to determine whether or not your area has support for 40Mbit.

The problem is that im not within the coverage map.... but im very close (within 1 block) so im hoping they upgrade further down the road :) i get 20mb/s at the moment and its not bad but the upload is what i want.

This is mine yesterday... 40 mbs in Ferndale, Randburg, JHB on Web Africa

Get similar speed on my Vox Fatpipe account.

I got my Billion router back and am now back on VDSL!

Although I did a test while still on ADSL 2+ but with my billion router. More ADSL 2+ test in post #20 done with a friends Netgear N150 I think it is.

When I ran my speed tests I also had other people on the network still.

Not bad, I just noticed you are on 15Mbit and not 20Mbit - although seems your SNR is getting a bit low there. Fairly far from the exchange.
When I was on 15Mbit ADSL 2+ it felt very much like a 10Mbit ADSL line, only ever so slightly faster. I then got TelkomZA to put me onto 20Mbit ADSL 2+ and then it was better although for some reason VDSL still feels a lot quicker and more stable than ADSL 2+, perhaps it is just my imagination.

I upgraded to 40 about two weeks ago. Happy with the speed. Will post some internationals later.

I am not an expert all I know is I get 40 down and 3 up... But is the other stuff okay?

Recently upgraded from 10mb to 20mb, ADSL2+. Cybersmart are managing the lines but I get my data elsewhere. Regardless that is as good as I'm getting!! As you can see the SNR margins and attentuation rates are perfect so why the hell such crap performance????!! I've been trouble shooting this with Telkom and Cybersmart since Monday but no luck with a solution. Anyone prepared to hazard a guess?

Using a Tp-Link W8970N. This router lost a power supply in a power outage a couple of months ago but since replacing said power supply it has been performing more or less as it should. Is there any likelihood that my issue is hardware related?

Okey maybe that is right
