Vehicle computer hacks are a cause for concern

I didn't read past the second paragraph when McAfee was mentioned.

With the majority of cars moving to CANBUS it becomes easier to standardize tools and therefore to find exploits on a large number of cars. A fun site to check out is http://www.canbushack.com/blog/index.php

ODBII has been mandatory on all cars sold in the US, and by extension pretty much all cars on the market, since 1996. It's just a communication platform with Canbus bring a protocol. It's not really something new. Odds are the increased complexity in vehicle computer systems coupled with extra resources and processing power being available is responsible for more system vulnerabilities being probed and exploited.
