Vehicle Insurance,

I'm in my 30s
2013 Model
R410,000 or replacement in First year
Up to R182,000 credit shortfall if applicable
No Excess
30 Day rental car
R822 per month

Alexander Forbes

I also have an i10 as a runaround which costs R400/month, and a Golf 5 TDI in Cape Town (an old company car I kept) for when I visit there, and its R280/month.

The key is to insist they send all quotes to their retention departments at least once every 6 months. Provided you don't claim (and I haven't), your premiums will keep going down.

Perhaps a section for coverage, as in:

Just a thought :)

That seems cheap for a R400k car.

I am over 25, no accidents. For my Honda Ballade 2012 which cost R200k I pay R1k a month.

Edited:Through a broker.

Bloody hell.

I pay about R400 for my 2008/9 Golf V GTI which is about the same value and that's without any excess.

I know I pay a lot :(

- Opel
- Astra 2.0 T
- Year 2007
- Insurance Premium and excess if it applies (Premium with tracker R1280 Excess R3800)
- Value R115000

I'm 25

Who is that insured with? Sounds like an Outsurance rip off.

If so go to a broker.

- Hyundai Getz
- Getz 1.4 HS
- 2007 (bought in 2010)
- Age is 30
- R432pm no excess etc for comprehensive coverage, worth every penny cause I've had some bad luck, think the claims I had I still need to pay till 2020 this amount per month just to let them break even with me! :D
Must add I've been with this insurance since 2004 so does make a difference I think..

Value of insurance R70k
Premium : R280

Pity I can't replace the car for what insurance thinks its worth though :(.... a similar model will hit me down for R100k at the second hand dealers (if I can find one before it gets sold of course)

Get the Opel fan to sell it for you, R200k minimum for this sale.

You got trolled. The idea of this thread is to make up ridiculously tiny amounts, not to actually be honest or realistic.

Damn that is high! I pay R200 less for a car that costs 6x more :\
With outsurance. Never been in an accident or claimed though (29).

That sucks.. For me haha did you go through a broker? Or just an amazing negotiator? I'm also with OUTsurance.. -_-

I have noticed that there are a few vehicles which seem way over insured and you are wasting your money.

1) Ensure your value is correct in accordance with your policy
1a) Could be retail + trade / 2
1b) Could be reasonable market value

2) Ensure all extras are noted on the policy ie:- towbar
2a) Ensure if separate excess applies to extras or if you vehicle excess applies
2b) Ask for quotes for extras under All Risks and Motor section because the rates and excess's could vary vastly and under the motor section the value depreciates with the vehicle (1 above would apply), All Risks is new replacement.

Just a quick tip or two
