very high speed Fine

Speaking of which.... I had a nail give me a puncture on my S2000, was a slow leak, and I had it repaired at TWT.... A collegue told me the tyre should be replaced, not repaired on a performance car... anyone know if this is true?

Well it is safer. Especially if you do make good use of the tyre. My friend had a nail puncture with his GTI. He opted for the R40 puncture repair (I watched them fix it in under 2 min). It is quite safe if the hole is small and the tyre repaired properly. But if you are willing to spend R2500 on a new tyre, rather do so.

On a car i would say it's not that bad, a blowout on a car is ok. But don't ever do that on a bike. You have a blowout and you go down very very hard ;)

but at night there is also no other cars on the road, well there where no other cars on the highway i was on, but now that i think about it u probably right speeding stays speeding and against the law so u probably right, 24k is still alot of money killadoob

Sell the car, buy a cheaper one and pay the fine :)

Sorry to say this, but you really dont have an excuse for driving that speed except maybe if you were taking a person to hospital that was close to death....

Anyway hope you learned your lesson.

Good luck and hope the Judge is having a good day :)

Damn tyre is apparently R3800 (Potenza R1/F1 or something similiar 245/40R17) - think I'll just drive slowly until I need new ones.

Damn..... the GTI's tyres are luckily only in the region of 2G apiece.

i wonder what time hell_fire has to go to court, and how it went, lets hope we hear from him today or tomorrow, otherwise he might be locked up :( lets all hold thumbs for him

Problem with that is, a Biker can get to 250+ in a few seconds, by the time the GTI's are up to speed the bike is way out of sight already ;)

But I doubt a car can out run them

Ah, but can a biker outrun a radio and a roadblock? I think not, judging from the bikers who have been caught. :)

Also - "catching up" is easier for cops when they're a couple of km ahead, and have a head start thanks to a radio call.

There are a few ways in which to catch high speed vehicles. 1. Helicopter pursuits (yeah this seems to work, but not often used in SA) 2. Radio-backup police cars ahead of vehicle, 3. Road block also set up around perimeter. Catching up with the vehicle is simply not an option. A friend of mine (with a Porsche) outran a chase and took an off ramp before any perimeter could be secured and got away. Got caught in a speed trap at 265. This was a while ago though.

Wow been playing Need for Speed a lot lately :P They can also upgrade the vehicles thats chasing you... Like start of with a normal Isuzu KB bakkie and work up towards the GTI's... When all else fails, you get the chopper!

This reminds me of that story on here recently where the biker zapped the cops in the UK, they gave chase, biker crashed and died. Instant justice!
