No More Speeding For Me!!!!!!

Good day every body im glad to see that at least some of u missed me :p:eek:

No seriously jokes aside to the one guy that posted about the guy doing 214km/h on the N1 no that wasn’t me my article was in Mondays beeld on page 4 in the left bottom corner " In nog n voorval is n 25 jarige man in sy Nissan 350Z teen n almintige 225km/h op die N17 hoofweg gevang" they said they caught 22 guys that day. Most guys were at court with me yesterday the speeds varied from doing 127-148 in 60zones in boksburg and staring speed on the N17 was 187km/h then there was a guy who did 211 and me with the grand prize of the stupid / reckless speed of 225km/h. the other fines varied from R4000 to R6000.

The head state prosecutor witch I must add was very helpful couldn’t help me because of the speed I was doing so I had to go into court and face the judge, after being there the whole day I finally got called, pleaded guilty told the judge y I did it and that it wasn’t a joy ride she was very direct and strait to the point, her words exactly was she had lost her amusement for people like me who speed at these speeds long ago we should not be allowed on the roads.

Sentenced to 12months in prison or R8000 fine had to spend Monday night in boksburg prison cos by the time my case was over the bail and fine department at court was already closed. my brother paid bail this morning.

Guys and girls please take note of the following words. The metro and justice system are done with speedsters u do not want to go through this at all jail is not a place u want to end up in and after yesterday I am so glad and thankful for what I have and will never give that up to go to jail ever again, speeding because I care and love my g/f almost got me taken away from her for a year, and sadly to say if u end up in jail u will never be the same after this time I was only there for a night and I promise u when I walked out this morning and took a good look around me I realized that being in a place where u only see brick walls day in and day out is no place u want to be in for any time frame. Just want to say thank u to the wardens at Boksburg prison u guys and ladies were great in handling my situation, although I have to complain to management about the orange clothing I had to wear the bedding arrangements sucked big time and well the chef could maybe get some variation on the menu, brown bread and slap pap can get a bit to much. but as I was told by one of the guards, as long as u are here u are a criminal and so u shall be treated like one ( scary thought trust me think about that one) last but not least I want to thank the two guys who will stay unnamed for in some weird way making me feel at home, good luck and always keep your eyes on the sky the walls don’t feel so close then. My apologies to all road users on South African roads.

Please guys don’t speed u playing with your lives speeding is fun but do it on a track if u must.

DON’T SPEED!!!!!!!

ah man, i feel for u dude, one night in jail must have been awful, hope ur okay.... only 8 grand ? well thats not tooo bad than i suppose :P

Imagine if you were drunk as well... Shame dude, hope all is good now..

I must admit I really enjoy speeding and the adrenalin rush you get from it. It's been almost 2 years since I have stopped speeding on the road and keep it STRICTLY for the track on Track Days. Bought myself a go-kart to get that 'rush' somewhere else, and not on public roads where innocent road users are.

There was a stage where a group of us used to try clock the highest speeds on our Garmins down Marlboro dip on N1. I clocked 262 and a mate 276. And for some pathetic reason, we thought it was 'cool'. Those days are over thank the lord :)

Good to hear you apologise and hopefully you really have learned your lesson... it does worry me a bit that you still seem to think speed is cool with the way you say....

...this is the attitude that needs to be gotten rid of. All too many people still think it makes them cool and more manly to brag about the high speeds they drive at (yes, you had an excuse but with a car like yours you cannot tell me you have not driven fast just for fun before). It does not make you more of a man at all. If you could run very fast then yes it would be an achievement but it does not take much to put your foot on an accelerator... any boy or girl over about 15 could do it!

Fast driving is cool on a race track. Fast driving on public roads is for idiots!

EDIT : And from the fines I posted from previous cases, you got off way too lightly!

What usually happens, well happened to me, I got trapped an offramp previous to the one I got pulled over by.

So there was obviously a radio call that had happened. Metro in a BMW 3series had his sirens and lights on driving in the middle lane. I knew what it was for cos there was a BIG flash behind me...

LancelotSA I dint mean it like that at all, there are no bragging rights for idiots that speed, and as for getting off light i beg to differ with u, u were not in court and u do not know what was said by the judge and in all honesty staying one night in a prison is way worse then any fine even if it was only 8k for the next 5 years if i even break a 60km/h limit by doing 71 i am in jail

Gee! How you going to manage that with 206kw of torque?! Didn't know she was THAT strict on you...

Get fake plates..

jj :)

Ok, that does make it worse! Was not aware of the 5 year "probation"!

Ill manage I don’t normally speed with the car anyway so it wont be 2 hard

I also changed my statement read it again it does kinda sound windgat so added on to it a bit so people don’t get the wrong impression

Speed on our roads will always be a problem when cars have the ability to reach those speeds. Question is why do our car manufacturers design cars that can run at speeds of 200km/h plus. Limit them to 250km/h knowing full you may not drive at that speed? How many drivers out take their cars to a track and push them to their limits? Maybe its time for the manufacturers to restrict the cars to the speed limit. If that is even possible.
Human nature is a strange thing......given the oppertunity we will push the limits and think we can get away with it.
