is this still accurate?
Did 132km/h on 120km/h N3 trying to overtake a car and got a R2500 fine at the roadside court, alternative was jail right there in then. These fsckers will fleece you in KZN over the holiday season.
Hey guys. Found this thread purely by luck. I also received this kind of fine. Did 117 in a 60 zone. Any of you guys think professional advice is required, or can I just go to the Prosecutor myself? Also, does this mean that I now have a criminial record???![]()
I did 186km/h in 120 zone on the N1. I signed Simmonds for a court date. Any idea what my fine/penalty might be?

Isn't 40km/h above the speed limit an immediate arrest?
Not enough!
I am sooooooooo tired of people complaining when they are caught doing ridiculous speeds.
No sympathy at all!
They not allowed to chase bikes... to dangerous.
No, you won't. Not on a stock CBR1000 at altitude.
It's pretty easy to get close to 300 on a litre bike, say 280, damn difficult to actually touch 300.
Even at the coast with 15% more horsepower, it's not easy to achieve.
