Virgin GPRS online|offline?

I couldn't connect last night from 20:30. Carried on saying that the PPP link had been terminated. Anybody else have the same problem?
Had it on a weekly basis with Vodacom. And then persistence didn't work at all where on Virgin it does eventually.

Well i cant connect with virgin at all at the moment... they are totally dead, keep getting ppp protocall disconnected or summat

Same here.....

Kinda the same here...started just after 15:29. I managed to connect just +-12 min ago. The pages seem to 'load' but nothing else happens. Direct IP’s also does not work (Not a DNS problem). MSN and IRC works fine!! (without using the proxy). I’m accessing this forum at the moment using my VM connection with a Your Freedom Proxy.
What’s going on where?

back on a more stable connection with another good provider :P

No luck with VM 2nite .

(it connects, but then I cannot access any web pages)

VM GPRS went offline in Somerset West an hour or so ago. I'm going to start a new "VM Data Status" thread to show whether GPRS is online or offline in my area. Could everyone else post there to do the same? My goal is to have a single post for every area that is updated every time the network status changes so we can get an overall picture of network availability across SA.

So, ld13, I should be asking when last have you looked at the first post? :) If you're planning on updating it, I can delete my thread.

I update as soon as I can get online again. If I have my Vodacom/MTN sim with me, I post an update immediately. That sounds fair to me.

Whoops, that was YESTERDAY :D

I'm not attacking your thread, merely making my own version. ;)

lol, Seeing that your 'mind is made up', I'll like to confuse you with the facts...

You reminded me to update my post on 07-12-2006(yesterday) at 11:59PM, so i updated it 07-12-2006(also Yesterday) at 11:57PM. That's a reaction time of -120seconds. I'm fast hey? ;)

Any updates on the online/offline times/-frames or anything else for that matter would be greatly appreciated!

thx

Of course, no one person who has any kind of social life will be able to update continuously with accurate results. That's why I thought we can do with as many separate network status posts as we can get.

Well...As you can see, some of my stats have some real accurate times. I'm on IRC so I can get logged downtimes that are maybe 20-30seconds out. I just don’t see the idea of a new thread. This is one place that anyone can post any Downtime on, and then I log it.
Just my thoughts.

Okay, good point. I'm too lazy to maintain my post anyway. ;)

I got a call from my friend at 20:27 to tell me his VM was offline. It was strange as I was still happily surfing on my side. He is about 7KM away and we’re not on the same tower.

At 20:44 my VM GPRS went OFFLINE. Just now at 21:28 all returned to normal and GPRS is ONLINE again!

down again

This is the firstime I'm trying VM, but it seems if the internet is down again. I get a connection but no data at all.

How offen does this hapen? and is this a service one can depend on ?

BBSA please refer to post #1 in this Thread. There is a 'log' of the downtimes VM had in the past...
