Virgin GPRS online|offline?

It was down in Somerset West, WCape too - I'd say this downtime sounds pretty much national.
 
VM say CellC is down. They tried to bring it up today but it didn't work. 24HRS is a pretty long period to be down. Sounds like they are not coping.
 
I'm also posting with VM - it's surprisingly fast, actually. Skeptik is the only person I've heard of, personally, who's experiencing downtime.
 
There was National dowtime of GPRS yesterday. I called 123 and they confirmed that. It came back on later. After using it for about a hour I called them again. They did not know it was in fact online again.

Skeptik,why do You see VM as 'liars'?
 
My connection was also down yesterday afternoon except for very small amounts of data. Also took quite a couple of tries to connect.

Jip I had some trouble connecting. I got connected after some retries. My first thought was that my drivers for my datacable or something went corrupt.
 
I can't connect since about 20h30 tonight. It looks like I can connect, but I can't get any data through. nslookups and pings fail too.
Back on my Vodacom simcard.
 
All is good on my VM connection here...sometimes I do get a dead DNS though. Easily fixed by a reconnect. But it does not sound like this is the problem you’re having.
 
My VM GPRS has been working fine all day. Considering it's my only connection, I don't think you'd be reading this if the network were down. ;)
 
I have been having major issues the past few days. Difficulty connecting, slow speeds, some sites that don't load at all. It was fine a few weeks ago but has been really bad since the weekend. Anybody know if their is something special that is causing the issues or if it is just Cell C again?
 
I couldn't connect last night from 20:30. Carried on saying that the PPP link had been terminated. Anybody else have the same problem?
 
My connection died at 21:44 yesterday. Retried a few times and got back online not long afterwards.
 
I had the same problem as pkid, but I persisted and it eventually connected after about 20 minutes.
