Sorry IC, don't mean to drag things along for such a long time. I am asking my friend on a daily basis on what is going on. But he has received no news. As soon as I here anything never mind big or small i will be sure to post it. Thanks again for the interest.:o

Maybe someone hacked into his notebook's Wi-Fi and leeched the net off his Vodacom Internet :D now what's the claim on that?? theft?? ha ha

Yes he is using the Notebook and he is connected to the Internet. And no the same problem is not occurring.
As a matter of interest I had a chat to a lady last night at a local rugby game. She said the same thing has Happened to her. In her case it was
R9k. She is a nurse and clearly doesn't have the money to pay it back. I asked her about her anti virus and she stated she has the most updated one. She didnt give me any technical info, just that she was connected for 1.5 hours max at any given time. Looks as if this is becoming a common problem now. :(
 
Common problem indeed. I have people coming in with Low Usage and High Bills. I'd say 40% of the customers i get this happens to. and 15% of that 40% is becoz of maybe a virus or other issues.

What is Vodacom gonna do about this? The only thing they are doing at the moment is presenting people with these outrages bills without any concrete explanation.

@Bruce000 Pleeeeeze forgive me if I offended you it wasn't meant to be. I/we are all just very interested in knowing the cause and outcome of this whole thing.
Thanks again for bringing it to the public Forum. We need to know what is going on out there. Please get this lady to report on the Forum we need to get these things logged.

We have landed up with a +- R8k account. Our subscription is via a Service Provider and that is even worse. They blame everybody down the line. I started asking all the why and why not's about warnings etc. I got no feedback from them accept we will let you know. They got upset with us suspended/cancelled our contract and said pay. We stopped all payments and asked them to investigate and please let us know. We are still waiting. They said if we had anything else to say we could write them a letter and they will discuss it with there lawyers.

This whole thing with (CDB) contract data bundles is getting out of hand or is out of hand already. Red flags should go up all over when bundle values are reached. Nobody would run up an account like that just for FUN.

I say BLOCK from day 1. Later on a limit can be set according to the users needs & available finances.

Current OOB Horrid stories on the Forum, that I have read.

1) Bruce's friend. R 10k
2) Bruce's lady contact. R 9k
3) Gory R 2k
4) Csnoopy R 8k

Anymore coz this can't be all.

No Problem:D Just frustrated that we getting no feedback from VC. I'm just as anxious as you. This girl that I spoke to last night is not a friend but someone that I ran into at the game. If I see her again I will tell her to post.

Oh by the way it is not Antivirus only. It is Internet Security in total, auto updates of sofware packages etc.
