Viruses

rather move to vault, heal hardly ever works.

So if it keeps popping up, what to do ? It has come back 20 times or more !

You're being very helpful, so just another Q: I normally do a weekly backup to my external hard drive.
If I do it now with this idiotic thing popping up, will this infect my external hard drive as well?

So far Mcafee Total Protection ( Business Enterprise Version), Spybot, MalwareBytes and Windows Defender have kept my PC clean for the last 7 months. ;)

And yeah, Kaspersky is really good. Give it a try!

If you cannot take my advice to download the trial Kaspersky AV 2009 I really have no other advice for you. :p

Are you saying Kaspersky will make the incessant pop-ups disappear? Can you guarantee it?

Nothing personal, but I do not know who you are, that you have no knowledge of my PC in order to make the correct recommendation and as such, it would be a tad dangerous just going with your advice? :p

AVG is known for being 'anal' with it's pop-ups and whatnots ..... I think ITCynic is telling you in a nice way to ditch AVG ;):D

Fair comment, I am a computer support specialist who does this for a living.
Google Kaspersky if your want. Other postings also suggest the same software.

Visit Kaspersky's home page and read up on them.

I would NEVER give advice here that would cause me to be flamed! :)

Edit : If you do decide to install Kaspersky you must uninstall AVG first or Kaspersky will not install.

See? See???

Everyone gives different advice ... ESET, Kaspersky, uninstall AVG first .... it's all giving me a headache!! :D

Anyway, the pop-ups stopped know ... who knows why? I'm just hoping all is well now.

You only need one antivirus as said by most people.
It needs to be updated.

Run this to make sure u got no virus now.

It scans from the internet, so if viruses are still hiding on your pc, they'll be found.
