Vodacom’s strange data prices

So why does their reason for the cheaper 2Gig not count? If it is the most popular bundle more people will benefit. If on the other hand they made the 2Gig the most expensive so that they make the most money off their price adjustments, more people would have complained.
I for one am very pleased to see mobile data sales below R100 per Gig, 5 years ago that was still unthinkable. And for my traveling Vodacom remains the best option with area coverage. No cell C or MTN in plenty of the areas I travel too.

Because it is easier to base decisions on the market than on common sense.
I liked Vodacom on facebook the other day just so that I could unlike them again.
 
Thank goodness I just finished 2 contracts with Vodacom my SO has one finishing in July and she's disputing a bill on another. After that we will be free at last. 8ta and Cell C here we come

Maybe it makes sense to Vodacom's product managers, who are using Chinese maths. :)
 
2GB@R99 matches MTN's recent surprise packages. Although MTN has R0.29 OOB and TOPUP contracts @ R129 with the same OOB rate.

Is OOB on this R1? or still R2? The higher packages will yield less OOB revenue, while the lower packages will see more signups and a significant enough number of subscribers will go OOB. After crunching the numbers, Vodacom knows the lower packages is more profitable (as a whole and not per contract), and the higher packages should be pushed up rather than down.

It's not.

It's substantially more to buy a 1G + 2G or 2G + 1G than to but the 3G.
 
So, instead of encouraging customers to use more data by making it more economical to buy bigger bundles you discourage them even more. Only at Vodacom.

Been running a promo for recurring once-off for a while how. (Remember, you can cancel any recurring bundle within 30 days, so no risk.)

Exactly. The 2GB should've been R119 to balance the graph, but I wanted it under R100.

Can always put it back to R119 if that'll make people feel better about the graph. ;)

And remember, you're still MUCH better off buying the 3G (than the 2GB) if that is your monthly usage.
