Vodacom activates WiFi calling for iPhone?

Urg. PM me your number and I will check if it is provisioned. If it is, I dont know how to fix this issue, as some people seem to have it provisioned, but it is not working on their Iphones. But I can at least check if it is provisioned or not on the system for you, instead of just telling you LTE is on and voice mail is on. honestly. /sigh

Thanks, sent you a PM.

Just to double check when making a VoLTE call it will only work if the other person also has VoLTE enabled right? Also I have 28.5.8 but don’t have the Vowifi option.

Having the exact same issue. After the recent carrier update and switching on Wifi Calling in Settings, my iPhone 6S immediatedly showed VoWifi in the signal bar, but my iPhone 7 does not show it at all. Both phones on contract. Even phoned them to make sure that VoLTE is at least activated. No matter how many restarts, on/off toggles... no luck on iPhone 7. Some other comments on the internet seems to blame the Intel modem (as opposed to Qualcomm) on certain iPhone models. My iPhone 7 model is one of those with an Intel modem. Not sure if that has any relation to the issue, though.

My Wifi Calling is also not working. I am using an iPhone 7, have restarted and am on a Uchoose plan but still not showing VoWifi? Has anyone been able to sort this problem out yet? Thanks

Mine was working but now I see the "VoWiFi" part isn't appearing any more. Anyone else?

Yup same here was working well for a week and now it seems vodacom has turned it off because its not working anymore

Ja, was working for me as well. Gone now.

Not the end of the world, but it is a handy feature.

I've got two phones - contract iPhone 6S and prepaid iPhone 6S Plus. On Thursday I toggled Wifi calling on for both. Only the contract phone worked.

Something strange happened on my prepaid phone. Suddenly calls started dropping randomly sometimes a few minutes in, sometimes I couldn't dial out at all. I called the call centre to ask if VoLTE and Wifi Calling was enabled and and they said it was and did a SIM sync or something.

Being off wifi I noticed I was losing LTE only on the prepaid phone going to No Service regularly and then Edge and GPRS. Hideous! Also still unable to make and receive calls.

I called the call centre again this morning early. They said my LTE was not enabled anymore. So they turned it on.

The same happened. I called them again from a Vodacom shop today and was told I had to do a SIM swap at first and then and some asswipe explained that when losing LTE coverage on any phone you need to manually select the MTN carrier, reboot, select Vodacom, reboot and the switch to automatic and LTE would work again.

Anyway the bottom line is that my phone battles to make or receive calls and WiFi Calling now doesn't register on either phone.

Great work Vodacom!

posted in the MTN thread too.

Help me understand the benefits of wifi calling please? Is it cheaper? Is call quality better (what if my wifi is hooked up to a 1Mb adsl line)?

Asking the real question here... No answer. Let's google. :)
