Vodacom activates WiFi calling for iPhone?

I heard that Wifi calling is still in PoC but my real question is: I have Vodacom VoWifi as my carrier but how do I actually see this "service" in action?

One thing I have noticed, when you make a call over wifi and you loose wifi connection, the call drops. On my wife's phone, when I enable wifi calling, her whone only connects to the 3G network and doesn't show VoWIFI when connected to wireless.

Popped up on my phone.

Keen to know how this will work with Roaming. I travel extensively outside of SA, and actually find that I'm on decent wifi a lot of the time, so would my calls come through as per usual? Or would Vodascum find some way to add on 3489239487% or disable this feature when roaming?

Why and how would they do that? With vowifi your call is routed through the wifi connection (in most cases it will be one that you have access to for free in a hotel or somthing). This means that you cannot be billed via the 3rd party network in the country you are in, who then would bill Vodacom for the usage and then Vodacom passes that on to you on your Vodacom bill.

That is basically the main use of W-Fi calling, you can make and receive calls just like you normally would anywhere in the world as long as you're connected to Wi-Fi.

When travelling abroad you simply turn on airplane mode with Wi-Fi and you're good to go.

Wifi calling not working since yesterday afternoon, anyone else having same issue? Even with the update this morning, still same issue.

Ai tog. OK, lets do a test. Send me your number that you having the issue with to:
[email protected]

I will then reprovision it and then we can test it. If it does not resolve, then it might be that Vodacom is busy tinkering with it on the backend.

Only feo to send his number guys. This is just to test if reprovisioning solves it or not.

I'm afraid to reprovision, I'm pretty sure Vodacom is doing something behind the scenes because we all seem to have issues at exactly the same time.
