Vodacom ad-hoc data prices discounted

lets be honest here chaps, this is just more drivel from Vodacom. I was going to do a quick table on a holiday season price comparison, but its quite clear that promotion or no promotion, you are still getting ass raped.

I can only highly recommend that everyone moves away from Vodacom as soon as possible. I made the move, and I have had no coverage issues with Cell C.

Left Vodacom behind, was the best decision ever. 3 months time will be moving the wife over as well.

Nope, wrong. Been available since the 15th.

Jannie, your attitude towards clients here sucks man. Clearly everyone is struggling to find these, since as usual you punks have made it unnecessarily complicated to do something which should be simple. Just give a proper walk through how to obtain these!

So glad I'll never have to complain about Vodacom again in a month's time when I join the 15c/mb standard rate network ;-)

OK, here's the 'Proper Walk through' you requested:

1. Log into Vodacom.co.za
2. Buy bundle

1024, so the rate is a *tad* lower than what you posted:

0100 28c/MB
0250 23c/MB
0500 19c/MB
1024 14c/MB
2048 13c/MB

Data Price c/mb
0100 R029 29.00
0250 R059 23.60
0500 R099 19.80
1024 R149 14.55
2048 R279 13.62

The prices that Id13 posted was correct. You also can't round down 29c to 28c or 19.80c to 19c, etc. etc.

Your response just goes to show how f***'d up vodacom is. Login to the site and:

Master account holder privileges
Contract and Top-up customers of Vodacom Service Provider have access to Master Account Holder features which allow access to services to be controlled.

So there are certain things, you can do on your phone like buy data bundles, but not through your ****ty website. I happen to be the Master Account Holder, have three contracts under my name, and to take advantage of your 'special', I now need to make a phone call first?

I'm pretty sure I rounded correctly. Use 1024 instead of 1000.

Both me and Id13 used 1024 and 2048. What did you use?

Also, regarding your rounding down of 19.80c to 19c:

8ta sells data at R199 for 10GB. i.e. 1.99c/mb. I'm sure Vodacom would be up in arms if 8ta states that their data costs 1c/mb.

log onto the website.
go to buy data bundle.
select data bundle
select monthly recurring
then you will se the promo.
there is no promo under the once off section.
i am on topup.

hope this helps.

Shot for the effort, unlike the useless company rep. I'm sure most of us here will eventually find where those sneaky peeps hid it, providing you're the account master user.

But, the way Vodacom set up this deal and hid it away from the normal channels where clients buy bundles from, and the complete lack of advertising thereof, goes to show that they don't really want people to buy bundles as the lower rates. Sad.

Maybe you should pull your finger out your lazy arse and look around a bit. if my mom could do it, and she know much about technology then surely you should also be able to have done with without too much hassle. I just checked and it took me about 2 minutes to login, click on buy bundle, select the number on which I want it activated, select the bundle size and click Activate.

Kudos to Vodavom for bringing bandwidth prices down!

You're missing the point dude. I don't argue with fools.

Not available to most people i.e. prepaid, and Vodacom's special doesn't even touch base with competitors normal pricing. For top-up this is an add-on i.e. you can't use your included airtime to get this bundle.

well then move to the competition. simple as that. But if you're stuck in an area there the competition doesn't have coverage then you'll have to use vodacom. I have both a vodacom & 8ta contract but can only use Vodacom while on the farm, in most parts of the Kruger National Park and many other places we frequently visit.

That's exactly what I'm doing - have 2 Vodacom contracts, one for phone and one for data. Data one has expired this month; going for 8ta 60GB prepaid.

Arrogant punk.

I apologise if you find it too complex to click on the purchase link on vodacom.co.za and then supply your login details.

We cannot really make it less than 2 steps as you need to click somewhere (Buy Data Bundles) and then supply your login details. Thus it's a two step process unfortunately.

But, if someone can help you through the process, it'll automatically recur every month, so you only need to go through the effort once.

You can also call 111 or 155 and they can do it for you if you battle with web browsers. Or, if you're in a shopping center, a helpful agent in a Vodashop can also help you.

Just out of interest; how do you manage to log into mybroadband?

It's in exactly the same place you buy all other bundles. In fact, we made it simpler to get to them by removing one menu level.

As I suggested above, best you phone 111 and they can help you.

Not bad - nice to see some price drops. Thanks Vodacom
