Vodacom BIS working at full speed

Jannie

Vodacom is a for profit organisation.
I pay Vodacom good money each month, and don't receive the service I am paying for.
So let's cut the sarcasm please.
Either you can endeavour to help in solving my problem, or you can get sarcastic.
And if you can't assist for whatever reason just say so.
I do not appreciate your prior comment(s).

Well, neither do I.

I went through a lot of effort to try and help you and when I see posts like yours above, attacking me personally, I wonder if I should have bothered.

I'm on this forum to provide comments and engage with forumites. This is not an official support channel and never will be. I suggest you call 111.

Jannie

You went through a lot of effort to try and help me, yet there has been no improvement in my BIS service.
That says a lot about your effort/help.

The problem is Vodacom charges their BIS subscribers R59,00 per month for a capped and heavily throttled service.
I've been led to believe that for R59,00 per month one receives 100mb of data after which you get throttled to the point of the service being useless.
That in my opinion is the real issue with Vodacom's BIS service !!!

So no amount of phone calls to 111 is going to fix that.

I say this again and again vodacom ate deliberately throttling this service I do not have proof obviously but it is a balls up.
They ate killing the service
It does not help to complain I have been complaining for years

Right now I have had to switch to samsung as my BB cannot even open mybroadband

I agree with you marine1.

My average monthly spend on cellular services is around R1000 with Vodacom.
If they want to cheat me for R59,00 every month I will hit the "Delete Vodacom" button.
I've had enough of their crap, so I'll say goodbye to Vodacom at the end of this month.

I refuse to pay R59,00 a month for a 100MB data cap.

BIS Blackberry traffic runs via a seperate pipe to the BIS server in UK. Your modem traffic runs via the normal Vodacom network and then breaks out into the internet from there.

OK, so then why cant Vodacom increase their capacity for that? If I remember there was an article a while back saying that its only a gigabit line, if that is the case then HOW ON EARTH IS THAT ENOUGH FOR A GOOD FEW MILLION PEOPLE? Personally I'm beginning to think Vodacom is intentionally trying to screw its customers by providing the bare-minimum when it comes to broadband services, at the highest possible price. I even cut up my data sim after I couldn't transfer airtime from my contract account to my prepaid account which I use for my data card. Now I'm using 8.ta and their speeds are excellent! not to mention their 2GB +1GB PREPAID special is very well priced (For SA standards :D )

iirc Vodacom have actually upgraded the capacity of the pipe to RIM a good few times.

I do not know the plans of Vodacom with any future upgrade plans though. This is for Jannie and VodacomData to know.

Cos Vodacom sucks ! ! !
Cos Vodacom screws/cheats/lies to its subscribers. . .

Remember R59,00 gets you 100mb of data per month = Vodacom's BIS data cap.

So even if capacity is increased 100 fold, your BIS service will remain crap after you've used 100mb of data on your Blackberry.

Free yourself from crappy service and dishonest data caps - "Uninstall" Vodacom !

Here is a Application For a Porsche see this link http://www.bbexhaust.com/car/cayman/ hence the location: PORSCHE - for some things in life there will never be an app ! :D:D
BB are a BIG FAIL in my opinion, it is just a matter of time before the overloaded RIM/BIS emplode.

Where do you get the 100MB cap story from?

What 100MB cap? There is no such thing.

When a man pays for a can of Coke and only receives a teaspoon of Coke = Vodacom's 100MB monthly BIS data cap !

...and then? You didn't finish your sentence.

Still you are on about the 100MB cap that doesn't exist. Besides, your analogy is incorrect, BIS doesn't have a cap so it's not like buying a 330ml can of Coke which has a finite capacity, it's more like buying a watered-down "bottomless" Coke.

Watered down? More like buying a coke with no syrup, no sugar, no caffeine
So basically false advertising ;)
A "bottomless" Coke from any chain is pretty much the same, sure the quality may vary between individual restaurants and from time to time, but it is never The Real Thing™.

hahahahahahhahah @ 100mb maybe ure thinking of MTN...

I'm on Vodacom & i do atleast 800mb of Data on BIS ( emails and abit of surfing ).

Wasn't vodacom initially planning to introduce a 100MB cap with the whole abusive user thing? Then they just abandoned that because it is unfair

Here in lies the truth - well said. When the networks including Vodacom started allowing the "internet.apn" on a BB SIM, this was the start of the downhill road and overcrowding the cause of the slower speeds. Remember networks create their T&C around business products to maximise their shareholder profits all designed by the "bean counters and accturies" to protect the their franchises for Vodacom they use Mr Soffer. Lastly when your network bleats "Sustainability" that means that the person bleating is actually stating his network cannot "Sustain" dropping their prices.

I find your comments/attitude rude and obnoxious.
You certainly are a Mr. Know-It-All.
Your analogy sucks, just like Vodacom's BIS !!!

Does not change the fact that there is NO (NONE, ZILCH, F*ALL) 100MB cap on BIS.

BTW, your ranting aside, the networking guys are still trying to see what's causing your poor response on BIS. All our links to RIM are running at less than 100% utilisation so something upstream is doing this, i.e. outside of Vodacom.

And before you ask why only Vodacom, our pipes are substantially bigger than anyones else's and I suspect someone up north is not able to accomodate them. Will give feedback when I get same.
