Vodacom BIS working at full speed

I call BS or you are abusing the system somehow

Thats traffic up and down, and I DONT need to abuse the BIS system as i have 4mb uncapped ADSL at home.

1x work email
1x Gmail
1x outlook.com account ( recently added )

FourSquare
Whatsapp
Waze
Twitter
Blackberry Maps
SatNav
AccWeather
BBM

I also need to mention that i do alot of OS7.1 release testing so i redownload apps from app world alot.

Edit:

My average usage of late has been around 300mb spiking to 500mb over the last couple of months with a huge spike to 800mb for one month :)

I was thinking about this today, so if I am on my home network using BIS on WIFI it flies like a bat out of hell.
If I go back onto 3G it is like dial up.
What can you deduce from that?
Yes I know that ADSL is different but if I then go onto 3G on my modem on Vodacom, its fast.
So basically IMO and yes I am no expert, the issue is with Vodacom.
Not enough capacity? BUY MORE.
Its not like there are only a few people on BB on your network.

I stand by my statement you guys are deliberately throttling the service. Either by not allowing us the real speeds or by not purchasing enough or more capacity from BIS as you put it.

BIS is absolutely horrible ...

For the last 8 months I've been waiting for my contract to expire and haven't cared about date, since it can't be used. Tonight my Whatsapp died (old version) and I needed to download a new version.

3 attempts ... about 15 minutes each attempt and less than 1MB received. At the 5MB, I'd have waited over an hour ...

It's beyond a joke.

BIS is very snappy and fast for me this evening. So it's either because the abusers are porting to other networks or I don't know :p

This whole "abusers" blame game was crap IMO. They stopped that right? Still has not improved the service at all.

I won't disagree. The service is definitely worse now than before the "abuser" slashing. It was fast for like a week and ever since it's sucked. I'm just mentioning that it's fast again tonight.

1 000 000 % in agreement with you.

Same here, when its on wifi I have no problems, the second I use cellular its worse than dial-up, and it has definitely got much worse, those locations I previously mentioned are just as bad as the rest now.

Does not change the fact that there is NO (NONE, ZILCH, F*ALL) 100MB cap on BIS.

BTW, your ranting aside, the networking guys are still trying to see what's causing your poor response on BIS. All our links to RIM are running at less than 100% utilisation so something upstream is doing this, i.e. outside of Vodacom.

And before you ask why only Vodacom, our pipes are substantially bigger than anyones else's and I suspect someone up north is not able to accomodate them. Will give feedback when I get same.
Perhaps a good time to AVOID a Blackberry phone and not be fooled by R59 FREE INTERNET SALES BULL. One of many FAILS for this brand. Adding a small data bundle to your SIM works well and thank you no BIS.

Amazing, when I started moaning about bis some time back all I was told is that its either my phone or the tower, always my fault, never the network.
Now it seems that either its a national thing or everyone moaning is using my tower or perhaps my phone when I am not looking ;)

Sorry but there is nothing wrong with the brand, this is the networks fault

Doubt it. First world countries have ditched Blackberry for greener pastures already (I wonder why?). We're two years behind the trend, so the allure of R59 "uncapped" internet still draws the masses because of the relatively high mobile data costs.

1000% CORRECT SIR - As mobile data pricing falls so WILL this brand - RIM has got problems in this regard elsewere = FACT.

Just to get an overall idea, can someone with access to an MTN/CELL C/Whatever BB + Vodacom BB please compare the service levels(Just give a personal opinion on speed), cause knowing the reliability of BB, I'm beginning to think Vodacom is not alone with these issues

from what i've seen the Vodacom Blackberry Pipe in SA gets upgraded way before it reaches its threshold & its not running at full capacity atm either.
