Vodacom cuts prepaid tariffs

How do you get sms 200 by only spending R100? What is your subscription.month^(-1) ?

x1

i'm on mtn anytime 200, takes me a good few months to reach 1000 points to purchase the sms-200

For every R1 spend = 1 point. Every 12 hours that your phone is on = 1 point. Each chargable sms = 1 point. There are a couple other too. I'm not sure what els you get points for but each month I get a sms with the MTN loyalty points balance. I'm able to get at least 100sms. Sometimes less sometimes more.

I made a type I ment for the 100 sms = 700 points. Couldn't remember which one it was. I apologize for my mistake.

Good to see prices come down and not go up... but I am sure there T&C's?

I honestly couldn't care less about the rewards, just drop the data prices already. Its been stagnant for far too long

Contract subscribers are a safety net for the operators, but they make most of their money off their prepaid subscribers and it would obviously be in their best interest to hold onto as opposed to losing them to another operator

Well, I am sure a few customers would move to prepaid now. At some point it will level out. But the drops is meant for the poorest of the poor. At least that means some people in need are benefiting, very little, but they are. But yeah, I am in need of lower costs too!

"...they don’t have to wait for off-peak times to make that important call," says Shameel Joosub

Scenario : You just got hi-jacked and shot, but its only 19:23 now so you guess you'll wait 47 minutes before you call for help. Let hope you don't bleed to death in the meantime, then again at the rates Vodacom are charging you its already bleeding you dry.

I'm sure Cellc Has the R1.50 tarrif plan still going! Which makes it in fact the cheapest prepaid offering! Let me fin the link.

EDIT: Link to cellc offering. Its in fact the cheapest. The only con is that its billed per minute. http://mybroadband.co.za/news/Cellular/10438.html

Now if ONLY Cell-C made their R1-50 per minute per second Billing eg. 2.5c per second any Network Any time.

They would win no Contest and Keep the Client Base growing quite Fast.

Time will Tell.

VodaCom normally trumps everyone else so i guess that R1-70 will be the lowest :)

No, you could just use Happy Hour rates...lol

I was so hoping for a price drop in data bundles as well

Why is 3G still so goddamn expensive?

I've had it with all these prepaid cuts and special offers, and absolutely f-all for contract users. Both EmptyN and Vodacum.
