Vodacom developing eSIM support

Meh, I'm giving up.
So gave it another shot. Opened a chat on the website and the lady told me she would escalate this for me.

Literally 5 Min later I had some network engineer call me. The guy by the name of Justin told me that VoLTE is indeed active on my profile, but it apparently only kicks in when I'm in a certain area where they are doing tests with VoLTE. He said it is not yet publicly released and not working on every LTE tower

The WoWifi was also active according to him, so he said he will disable it and enable it again.

They had press releases for both. It is active. Everywhere I have 4G I have VoLTE. Maybe support for the Note 9 not yet ready?

Every person I speak to at Vodacom tells me something different

Could also be that the note 9 is not yet supported.
@jannievanzyl can you confirm the note 9 is supported?
 
Wifi Calling on Vodacom has been very intermittent lately. Literally on and off lasting anything from a couple hours to a few days.

The service has been down for me since the beginning of the week.

Are others having the same problem too?

VoWifi used to be very reliable on Vodacom and most of the issues with the service being offline only started surfacing around a month ago.

I've been having the exact same issue.

From yesterday for example it wasn't working, then sometime this morning started working again.

Last week also had down time.

I actually did post on the Vodacom support forums asking if it's been more shaky then usual.

Also just confirmed that is working again. Was not working last night and early this morning.

Yip. I'm perpetually in an area of bad signal so saw it appear suddenly so put it on flight mode and it was working.
 
You don't need an eSIM for that.

I have a dual-SIM phone, and use Cell C for calls and Rain for data.
IIRC the Pixel isn't dual sim
Correct. It's not dual SIM. Normal SIM and e-sim.
You can however only use one at a time. It does not work like your traditional dual SIM where both are active at the same time. I however read Google will release an update to accomodate to have both sims active at the same time. But right now, you'll have to manually switch.
