So gave it another shot. Opened a chat on the website and the lady told me she would escalate this for me.Meh, I'm giving up.
They had press releases for both. It is active. Everywhere I have 4G I have VoLTE. Maybe support for the Note 9 not yet ready? So gave it another shot. Opened a chat on the website and the lady told me she would escalate this for me.
Literally 5 Min later I had some network engineer call me. The guy by the name of Justin told me that VoLTE is indeed active on my profile, but it apparently only kicks in when I'm in a certain area where they are doing tests with VoLTE. He said it is not yet publicly released and not working on every LTE tower
The WoWifi was also active according to him, so he said he will disable it and enable it again.

I've been having the exact same issue.Wifi Calling on Vodacom has been very intermittent lately. Literally on and off lasting anything from a couple hours to a few days.
The service has been down for me since the beginning of the week.
Are others having the same problem too?
VoWifi used to be very reliable on Vodacom and most of the issues with the service being offline only started surfacing around a month ago.
Also just confirmed that is working again. Was not working last night and early this morning.I've been having the exact same issue.
From yesterday for example it wasn't working, then sometime this morning started working again.
Last week also had down time.
I actually did post on the Vodacom support forums asking if it's been more shaky then usual.
Yip. I'm perpetually in an area of bad signal so saw it appear suddenly so put it on flight mode and it was working. Also just confirmed that is working again. Was not working last night and early this morning.
Vodacom developing eSIM support
Vodacom has stated that it is working on support for eSIMs.
“Vodacom is currently developing support for eSIM in conjunction with the various device manufacturers and will launch commercial support at the appropriate time,” said Vodacom.

Hi Vodacom, still busy developing eSIM support?
Would also like to know, interested in getting a Pixel and dual SIM with Telkom for data.
IIRC the Pixel isn't dual simYou don't need an eSIM for that.
I have a dual-SIM phone, and use Cell C for calls and Rain for data.

Correct. It's not dual SIM. Normal SIM and e-sim.IIRC the Pixel isn't dual sim
What Vodacom means with "developing" is holding it off at all cost. They only stand to loose from it.
People will use cheaper data from other providers. How will Vodacom loose[sic] from this technology?
