Vodacom developing eSIM support

It would be sufficient for me if VoWiFi worked stable on Vodacom network and on my phone. It works on Cell C, why not on Vodacom?

Yip seems they have been consistently down atleast once a month for a little while.

So is it safe to ask more than a year later is Vodacom any closer to a functional eSim activation system?
I would love to active my iphone xs Max.

Been using my (non-Apple) eSIM-enabled smartwatch for quite a few weeks. :)

Still awaiting final dates from the fruit company as to when they'll launch eSIM functionality in South Africa.

Thanks for the update,I was under the impression the delay was from Vodacom.

So basically they(Fruit guys) need to approve it first?

System architecture developers are at Vodafone. Duplicating teams would be a waste of money.

BTW, 7 months ago I opened tech support case case for activating VoLTE and VoWiFi on my Huawei Y6 2018. Especially VoWiFi is important. This month case was closed, no reason given.

Any update on when we can expect a Vodacom esim ? 2019 or 2020?
Well, as I posted above, been using my Vodacom eSIM enabled smartwatch for a few weeks already, so 2019.

But you probably need to fine-tune your question a bit as to the specific device vendor, etc. Standards and eco-systems are not all aligned yet.

Or simply ask when can ANY eSim be activated on the Vodacom network by a regular consumer.

Don’t know why you are purposely obfuscating the question and blaming Apple when nobody can activate any eSim at all.

So in Vodacom's latest deals booklet they offering a Samsung watch that has eSim functionality, So it looks like an announcement from Vodacom is imminent - They are marketing the watch as "The first eSim watch in South Africa"

Can't seem to find a price without the galaxy s10 :(

Been using the Samsung Watch with eSIM together with my Samsung Note 9 the last few months. Pretty cool that I can now leave my phone at home when I go cycling. :)
