Vodacom developing eSIM support

The VoLTE sign will show up everytime when you are in 4G coverage. VoWiFi only works when the signal is bad. You can force that by putting your phone in flight mode and turning on your WiFi and the VoWiFi sign will pop up. Both must be provisioned by the Vodacom call centre. Sometimes have to try more than once. You'll get a sms to confirm it has been provisioned on your line

I've spoken to 6 agents now and none of them have the slightest clue what I'm talking about.

Is there a rep on this forum that can assist with the activation?

What phone you using?

Also go to settings - about - software information and under Service Provider SW Ver. What does it show in the last line?

Is it XFV/XFV/XFV?
 
Also I can't remember if this was only for Cell C or if I had to do it for Vodacom as well but "international calling" needs to be deactivated before requesting Wi-Fi calling to be active.

I don't seem to have that option. Where do I find it?

I'll try the call centre again and will mention Vowifi instead of WiFi calling.
 
Phoned in again and the agent had no clue. She however put me on hold and said she will get someone to call me back.

While I waited I hopped onto the live chat and the chat agent said it's already active.

Received a call from the other agent shortly after and he said it is NOT active but he will activate it and it will take up 24 hours. Even explained to me how the billing works etc..

In the drop down settings when you swipe to the right (edit: left) do you have the Wi-Fi Calling symbol selectable?

Alternatively check in three more arears:

In the Call app, go to settings and scroll down you should see a Wi-Fi calling toggle.

2nd place: settings, connections. There should be a toggle there as well.

3rd place for it to be able to dial out. Settings - connections - more connections settings. You need to enable "advanced calling".

How to test:

Make sure you enable the LTE/3G/2G connection not only 3G/2G.

Place phone in flight mode.

Enable Wi-Fi.

Make sure all toggles mentioned are on.

Wait a minute, see a ifyou have a calling symbol next to your Wi-Fi symbol.

If not, turn the Wi-Fi calling toggle (in the drop down menu) off and on again.

Sometimes it's necessary to reboot the phone before it shows (while in flight mode).

Can anyone using Vodacoms Wi-Fi calling confirm if it's down?
