Vodacom disappearing airtime and data problem

How come when companies steal, it's called a Billing Error and nothing happens to them.

If I accidentally walk out of VodaShop with a new phone (not intentionally) it's shop lifting theft and I got to jail.

Does not seem like fair treatment.

It is because of a fundamental aspect of law which you don't understand called "dolus" or intent. Vodacom's issue is a technical issue, there is no criminal intent involved. When you shoplift a phone, you have criminal intent to steal. Simple as that.

I have lost over 2 gig of data, and the agent I spoke to about it simply told me it is "impossible" and that on her screen it was indicated that I have used the modem the entire day... that while I was at work all day, with only my dog having been home. Is it possible that a DOG could have used all my data? LOL! How do I go about getting this rectified? This happened about a month ago, and she did not give me a reference no for the call. And she was totally arrogant on top of it all, negating all that I have tried to tell her!

Well, since such a modem could move how would they know you didn't take it to work? Maybe your wifi has been hacked.

I have a possibly related issue, again with Vodaphone live.

On the 8th August this message appeared on my cellphone and I can't get rid of it.

Welcome to Vodaphone, Just a moment

As last time I did not ask for Vodaphone live to be activated and did nothing that I know of that should have triggered it . so far it can't complete the process because I have disabled all downloads, but I know that the moment I connect via wi fi this process is going to complete and then I sit with a Vodaphone live subscription I do not want.

How does a wifi get hacked if there is no wifi? And why would I take my modem to work when I can use adsl at work?

I think I am seriously beginning to mistrust Vodacom... pity, since I used to really like them. Seems my only option will be to start using another service provider.

And this a few days after myBroadband 'proved' that data does not just disappear in one of their experiments. I actually voiced my disquiet about the method used in that thread.

Just ignore him
He finds it impossible Vodacom could be so unethical and it's 100 percent in every case the users fault.

No, but I need even just 1 person to show me where they have bought airtime or data bundle and then show me their device data log where there is not a app using it, that is all I want.

Has never happened on my VC nor on my moms. VC is expensive, VC data expired too fast, VC has bad OOB shark and their contract data sessions are not monitored real time, VC is no great company, but no proof is no proof.

There are way too many people complaining all the time about this to be random or the fault of the client
Vodacom and MTN have proved over the years their standpoint in ethics
Only if you are prepared to battle them out will they refund you and this also applies to OOB

Yet these many people staying with Vodacom, just like you did for soooooo long (bloodie Ockie). They should leave VC and go wherever (just not MTN, they really are thieves).

I couldn't leave
But I did eventually

Guess what?
No more data depleting
No more voice depleting
No more OOB
It's was the best move I ever made
Cell C is miles ahead of VC
I get 10 times more value for half the money

How come on CC I only use about 400 or 500 minutes but in VC it was always more than 1000?
How come?
Oh and now if I do go OOB It's not at 2 rand a meg
It's amazing how you defend them

Every month I had to fight for going OOB without ever being notified
Welcome to ask Ockie ;)

If asking for proof is defending, so be it.
