Vodacom goes gaming

This is making me think of actually start buying games to play now.I hope the local APN gets accepted by the vodacom people.IC can you please place a poll so we can decide which games we want first.

woot! :D

So wait...only Vodacom connections can connect to the gaming severs?

Seems like that was the case. I don't think Vodacom is/was aware of the fact that 95% of online gaming happens on copper. But hey, that's just me :p.

To fill a BF2 server with only Vodacom users would take billions of years :D

Actually, it was still in closed testing phase with the intention to open it up to everyone later.

But as per usual rpm sniffed it out so we opened it now.

Cool,

Now go and get a copy of BF2 and meet us on there tonight. I'll give the server a try if there is enough players :)

Nifty

Vodacom will initially focus on providing PC multi-player gaming services to their customers via the new Vodacom Gaming Service portal,

Since Microsoft SA are completely asleep and incapable of getting any local Xbox Live Support up and running in South Africa, maybe Vodacom can sneak something in somewhere (no idea what, but it at least looks like Vodacom is faster than Microsoft SA) and simply grab the entire SA Xbox Market too ;). [And yes i have my Xbox hooked up to my 3G modem too ;) ]

Oh and as for the Mobile Games, just a hint for Vodacom:

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/orange-named-top-mobile-games-operator
Orange has been named the number one mobile gaming operator in 2008, with a market share of 23 per cent for downloads and 25 per cent for revenues.

Sonic the Hedgehog and Monopoly were the most popular titles, while over 30 per cent of Orange's gaming revenues came from consumer purchases of pre-installed demos on its phones.
