I have been using Vodacom HSDPA (E220 modem) for about 4 months. I must congratulate them on a brilliant service. It always just works. Fast, super internet. I have even had music video youtube evenings at my place. My friends cannot believe what I can do over my HSDPA link. When I tell them it costs me R249 per month, they trip over each other to get it.

Great, stable, cheap, fast internet. Just as I have always wanted.

Now.... not that it would make any difference to my life, but when can we expect 3.6Mbps?

Careful Johan, I was also very outspoken about the service so a couple of my friends signed up. Then the tower got congested :(

My motto is, shut up, and hog all the bandwidth for yourself :D

Lucky bastard ;) Not all of us are that lucky!

i got to agree with Johan, i to am very impressed with vodas performance. the speed is good and by South African prices very competitive. i using my e220 on the road in conjunction with my hp laptop and coverage is remarkable so well done Vodacom...

Johan you are lucky I think

Hi Johan

Please see my posting "Vodacom from bad to worse".

I also received good service when I signed up over a year ago. Now it seems that I am suffering from severe network congestion issues, which could be due to "area overload" or else insufficient network capacity in the "core network"

I am situated in Fourways Johannesburg. Which geographical area are you in please? I am trying to ascertain whether my problem is an area specific problem.

Hope you good service continues

Rob

I also have been using Voda 3G/HSDPA since its inception in 2005 and am more than happy with the service I have received. During my work day, I travel to various parts of KZN and have used it in many areas where I did not originally expect to have 3G (eg Vryheid and Dundee!!). There are occasions where it has had problems but in general these appear tp be resolved fairly speedily.

The best part of it is that unlike most things in South Africa, we are now getting more for less than we were when it first launched. Well done Vodacom and keep up the good work!

Im already connecting at 3.6mbps on my USB modem? The service is lightning fast, I only use it when I'm on the move though due to limited bandwidth.

I have been using my phone as a modem for the past month, and the only problem i have expierienced is trojans and spyware eating at my bandwitdh. I have sorted that out, and as far as i'm concerned, i don't know why people is wasting their time buying modems and isp accounts when you can do with a simple R25 add-on. Haven't recieved my bill yet, but untill then, well done to Vodacom.

What's a R25 addon?

When you receive a bill of R 5000-00 for the month we'll se if you still sing the same song, Remember they dont pitty any one its all just about the mone.

Used 3g and it sucked only living like 200meters from the tower used to get an avarage speed of around 500kb/s.

And after receiving a bill of R3000 for the month decided its just pathetic.
